Conflict

Prejudice - a "preconceived opinion or judgment that does not take into account all facts"
Discrimination - "acting upon prejudice"

Two Perspectives

Socio - result of factors outside the individual

Psych - result of socialization

stereotypes: generalizations that are oversimplified; they assign certain characteristics (usually negative) to particular groups
