| Escaping the Gorham Triangle One of the employees at the local outfitter hiked the AT through Gorham and decided to move here. The caretaker of The Barn, Scavenger, hiked though here in '96, got injured on Success Mountain coming into Gorham and has never left. We tried leaving yesterday and couldn't get out. It's called "Town Suck." Hikers just can't leave, even though there's nothing left to do but walk. After another easy, lazy day, we made a break for it and escaped. We only made it about 2 miles, but we're in the woods again. It feels great to be here. I don't think I could've taken another town day.. I can only be happy being lazy and pigging out for brief stints at a time. I surprise even myself. - Bobo on the run |
