The whole day I've been running through mental checklists, trying to catch some sleep and waking up worrying that we forgot something. So far, I haven't thought of anything left behind. So, I'm left to checking the itinerary every 15 minutes. For somebody who never makes it anywhere of time, I sure am being paranoid today.
We had a great send off "Nishimuta style" - with lots of Dad's BBQ ribs (mmm-mmm), good wine and lots of quality time with family (aka "spoil-nieces-and-nephews-time"). After all the good-byes, all that remains is the anticipation of what's coming. For today, all I want is to get to the park. Tomorrow I'll worry about the hiking part. I'll let you know how that goes.

PS - Watching everybody with the newest Harry Potter book is quite upsetting. Scholastic needs to release a hiking-size version for those of us unwilling to haul around 5 extra pounds.
