Besides Kevin, William is an awesome actor, too. I just discovered him in the hit tv show CSI starring as the calm, cool, and cute Gil Grissom. I wish I would have found him sooner. I have been trying to catch up on his film work buy renting them at my local video store. I have enjoyed all that I have seen. Like Kevin, he plays in a wide variety of roles. (And plays them great!) I loved him in his role in the tv mini-series "Return to Lonesome Dove". He's awesome as a gunslinger and a cowboy. (He looks SSSOOOOO good in a cowboy hat!!!) His character on CSI is a neat guy. (Gil Grissom) If you haven't got to catch the show, please do so! It's awesome! It's on CBS on Thursday nights. (check your local listings.) The show is so cool with it's way of zoooooming right into wounds and checking it out from the inside. Also, Gil has the BEST lines!! ;-D I wonder if they'll ever make a movie out of the show? I sure hope so. And if so, I hope they get Kevin Spacey to appear in it, too. That would SOOOOO make my day!!! I can see it now, "William L. Petersen stars with Kevin Spacey in the movie 'CSI Forever'!!" LOL!! I have no idea. I'm too goofy for words. *giggle* Anyway, if ya like Mr. Petersen, enjoy my Petersen pages full of his pictures, information, and any other things I can come up with. :-)

Fame in Petersen's own words:
"Oh, the money sure is nice, and it lets me do a lot of nice things for my family and my friends, but the fame part doesn't help you as an actor or a person, apart from being just one more thing you have to be 'bigger than'. I keep a low profile, and that's really the big thing that worries me about this television thing. Once you come into people's homes every week, you're pretty much their 'fodder'. Ted Danson is a friend of mine, and at the height of 'Cheers', we could not even go out together. He was Sam Malone to everybody. People get into acting for a variety of reasons. I got into it because it saved my life and gave me room to grow as a person and learn about life with people who were both courageous and weak, who came from trauma and figured out how to overcome it. It wasn't therapy, but it was the best of what love can be, when you look into someone's eyes and say, 'Let's do it together."
On May 15th, 2001, William Petersen was invited to speak before a U. S. Senate Judiciary committee in Springfield, Illinois. He talked about how real crime labs go without much needed money and equipment and how they need the tools and training it takes to help solve real crimes. He stated how he supports the efforts of the forensic scientists and the funding of the Paul Coverdell National Forensics Improvement Act. What a great guy. :-)
