Can You Survive?

Twelve people are following the events and "betting" who will be the next person ousted from the Outback. Each week the contestents get 100 points to assign to the various Survivors who they feel are most likely to get voted off the show. In addition, this week there was a 100 point bonus to predict the final winner.

Because of the large bonus question, the rankings changed dramatically in the final week. Most people felt Colby would again win immunity and take Keith to the final two figuring that nobody liked Keith, which would guarentee Colby $1,000,000. Here are the final Yahoo! Survivor Pick 'em Rankings:

Keith's goose was cooked.

May 3 - Prior to the final immunity challenge, the remaining three survivors walked past the torches of their fallen comrades. I think this is going to be a ritualistic Survivor tradition since this was done on the first installment. It allows the producers to show clips of the previous contentants and take up the necessary time.

Like the first edition, the final immunity challenge was a quiz about how well they knew the members of the jury. Several questions were asked to determine who best "knew" the people they had been with the last 40 days. Colby and Tina were neck and neck until Colby finally prevailed. Colby's vote was the only one that mattered, so he decided who was NOT going to win one million dollars. In a surprising move, Colby ousted Keith, the chef disliked by all, who probably would assurred Colby of a victory. Instead he kept the Mom, perhaps in tribute to his own mother.

The jury then asked questions to the final two to try and decide who should receive their vote. The votes were tallied and kept sealed for eight months until they were revealed live during the airing of the final episode. The final vote was 4-3 in favor of Tina. Colby seemed genuinely happy for her and was pleased with the outcome--a far cry from the bitterness that Kelly exhibited last time around.
