KETTLE CREEK CHAPTER DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION HOME PAGE

WAS YOUR ANCESTOR
IN THE BATTLE
OF KETTLE CREEK

DO YOU HAVE AN ANCESTOR
THAT FOUGHT AT THE BATTLE OF
KETTLE CREEK?
14 February 1779

IF HIS NAME IS NOT LISTED
ON THE MONUMENT
WE WOULD LIKE TO ADD IT.

The Kettle Creek Chapter NSDAR maintains the monuments and the
memorial marker area of the Battle Field. The Wilkes County Commission
owns the Battle Ground.

The Battle Ground Committee of Kettle Creek Chapter Daughters of the
American Revolution accepts applications from descendants of patriots
who fought at the Battle of Kettle Creek on February 14, 1779. To have names
of patriots added to those already on the monument:

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO DOCUMENT THAT YOUR ANCESTOR WAS
AT THE BATTLE OF KETTLE CREEK ON FEBRUARY 14, 1779.

It is not enough that your ancestor fought with a commander who was at this battle.
A Revolutionary War pension claim paper is excellent proof of service. We
accept South Carolina Accounts Audited, South Carolina Department of
Archives and History. A personal or family memoir complied and printed
before 1900 that states your ancestors service at the battle, either from a first or
second hand account, that has nothing to do with the Andrews/Green List
will most likely be acceptable. Other proof that you have may be submitted.
