Under the supervision of Sgt Cartwright (right) and Sgt Foster, the Kettering Marine Cadet Detachment is for males between the ages of 13 and 18 years of age. Highly motivated, self sustained and versatile, Marine Cadets, like the Royal Marines, are trained to extremely high standards, requiring impeccable discipline and teamwork skills. Unlike the Army Cadets and Air Cadets, the main priority of the Marine Cadets is not to recruit for the senior force, although many Marine Cadets at the age of 18 do leave to become Commandos.
One of the most important aspects of any cadet force is drill, bringing discipline, bearing and self-confidence into perspective. Whether in Blues or Lightweights, Armed or otherwise, with 100% effort, we make it look better than good.
