The 2nd Regiment has the distinction of being one of the few units to escape from the first wave of the Clan invasion of 3050.   Formed in 3048 the 2nd Regiment was on its first Tour of Duty with the Federated Commonwealth when the when a Clan Wolf unit dropped on to the planet. The unit was sent forward after the recon units to engage the unknown forces. This initial engagement cost the regiment dearly. In excess of 40 mechs were lost engaging the battalion of opponents (later determined as a Cluster composed of 1 trinary and 2 binaries). The unit pulled back and helped to support the regular troops on the planet in their engagements against the enemy. With the collapse of the regular forces, the remaining 53 Dragon's Teeth members went into hiding, striking from cover and generally disrupting Clan efforts.

   When Tyra Miraborg crashed her Shilone fighter into the Dire Wolf, killing the Ilkhan of the Clans, a stay in the fighting occured. During the lull, the Dragon's Teeth first regiment was able to drop onto the planet and recover its lost units. What had been a regiment of academy graduates had in the space of a number of months been transformed into razor sharp veterns. Even so it took two years to fully rebuild the unit. By the time the Clan onslaught was halted in 3052 the unit was up to just two battalions of troops with only 60 operational mechs. With a seccesion of hostilities, Colonel Akbar was able to demand six months of intensive training under fire to bring his new warriors up to the same skill level as his vetern troops. Officially recommisioned in January 3054 they picked up a contract for the Fed Com along the Border with the Wolves only to find themselves secceding from the Federated Suns half of the Commonwealth a year later. The unit begged to abandon their posting on the quiet front to backup the 1st Regiment in its battles along the Free World's border but was asked to remain in place by Prince Victor.

   The unit ended its contract in 3057 picking up a new contract with the Draconis Combine to defend worlds from the savage Smoke Jaguar, this sadly put them far from Jade Falcon insurgency of the Lyran Alliance, once again keeping them out of the fight. However they finally got their chance for battle when Operation Bulldog rolled around. The 2nd Regiment went out in the first wave, crushing the Clan forces under the heals of their brand new mechs and tactics.

During the Fed Com Civil War both Regiments of the Dragon's Teeth found themselves being hired by Commanding General Hohiro Kurita to 'stabalize' the disputed area, in truth being deployed as an unofficial defense force to protect civilian installations from the more questionable elements of Katherine Steiner's forces.
