Marianne Wallace discovered the loss of her husband when his unit returned from the mission. A week later a Kuritan Lance slipped behind their lines and assaulted the defenseless town being used as a base. Marianne took control of her husbands abandoned Highlander and engaged the lance, destroying two enemy mechs and driving the other two off. After the battle she asked Colonel Rictheron if she could form a new unit with the sole purpose of defending civilians from enemy forces. She could not stand to kill an enemy soldier in cold blood, knowing that she would be leaving their family with the lose, but defending those families was enough of a reason to fight. The new unit would be made up solely of soldiers who were disillusioned with war, no longer seeing any rightness in attacking. The 12 warriors that make up the Remembered have all lost a loved one to war and seek only to defend those that could not defend themselves.
The Remembered were deployed with the 2nd Regiment when the Clans first began their assault. By the time they were pulled out only 5 members were still with the unit. 7 more were recovered 6 years later, having spent the last half decade as bondsmen to Jade Falcon. Marianne did not let this discourage her, she reformed the unit in record time, recruiting the disowned and scrapped mechs to fill out her ranks. Her soldiers fought harder then ever to defend the innocent from the Clans, particularly during deployments in the Rasalhague Republic. The Remembered fought during the Free Worlds Assault into the Federated Commonwealth, the Capellan War, the Federated Commonwealth Civil War, and have since been deployed almost constantly in the Chaos March, providing a ray of stabalizing hope in the region.
