"Say that again I don’t care who you are.." Hira’s words were cut short by Takaji’s hand over her mouth.
"Shut up! You don’t know who your dealing with!" Whispered Takaji in her ear. He pulled her into the shadows of the house and bowed to Kasai. "Lord Kasai please excuse Miss. Shimhari she is a house guest of mine who does not know when proper respect is demanded. My I go so far as to say you look in good health." Hira twisted in Takaji’s grip to get a better look of Kasai she was very surprised by what she saw. It was a boy, he looked no older then 15 staring back at her. His hair was a fiery orange and he had Brown eyes. He was dressed in Jeans and a tee-shirt, and the expression on his face was one of supreme displeasure.
Kasai raised one copper eyebrow as Hira looked him over. "did I pass your inspection wolf girl?" Hira was taken aback once again by his calm almost adult like voice. He turned to Takaji "I am here for 2 reasons, first to visit Chiko, I have missed her. Second The council sent me here to live." Takaji hissed at the name Chiko but Kasai took no notice. "My cousins have kicked me out, they feel that at my age I should be able to amuse myself. Now I won’t bother you or your little Friend." Kasai’s lips turned slightly up when he said friend. "All I need is a place to sleep and meals."
Takaji bowed once again to Kasai. "My lord It would be my pleasure."
"Cut the my lord crap we both know your older and you have a more useful form to work with. Now I’ll have my chat with Chiko, still living in the hall way mirror isn’t she?"
"Kasai I know that the council might not be as important to you but they have decreed that The women of whom you speak be referred to as Kagami and I would caution for you to do the same." Said Takaji bowing to Kasai.
"I will call her whatever I like boy, now I must speak with her." Muttered Kasai as he ran of towards the house. Hira narrowed her eyes as she passed, everything happened so fast in this house she wondered If she could keep up with them. She turned to see Takaji shaking his head and look towards the house.
"Does he doubt that she has changed? Why does he still hope for her even after all these years?" murmured Takaji to himself. Kasai of all people confused him the most. He was harsh to almost everyone including the highest elders on the council. He abandoned his normal form for one of a human child. But still Kasai stayed true to his one love and he had chased around the world for years looking for some spell to set her free.
Hira sighed ‘that was quite an encounter’ she thought to herself. She turned to Takaji looking out into the distance, through the walls he wasn’t even paying attention when his hand slid into the sun light until it was to late. The tiniest of rays hit his hand and he let out a yell and started hopping from foot clutching his hand. "What is it? what is it?" yelled Hira as she tried to get him to open his hand so she could see it.
"It burns, It burns" he hissed to her. She clutched his wrist with one hand and pried open his hand with the other. But there was no need because Takaji opened it himself to show a perfectly normal palm and he started to laugh.
"You bastard I was really scared for you." Said Hira hitting him upside the head. "Last time I waste sympathy on a lost cause." Takaji started laughing harder as Hira left in huff. She didn’t stop until she had gotten into the house and around a corner. She looked down at her palm and then gently brought it to her face and kissed it blowing her kiss in the direction of Takaji and the garden. She leaned against the wall and slid to the floor with a sigh. Little did she know how close she was to a passionate conversation.
Kasai sat sobbing on the floor in front of a kneeling Sagami her hands were reached out towards him barred by her glass prison.
"Kasai my love don’t cry please don’t cry." whispered Sagami as she pressed her face towards him her hands pushing against the glass walls.
"I can’t touch you, I can’t feel you in my arms, forever cursed are we both. To love but never have what is desired." Kasai moved to put his hands to where Sagami had hers. "Do you know how much I’ve chased you? Do you know how long I’ve searched. I need to be with you Chiko."
"Shh Kasai it’s alright quiet now we don’t want Takaji to here, what would he think if he saw you crying. Or the girl don’t want to make them think you’ve gone soft do we?" said Sagami trying to smile. "Now clean yourself up and we’ll find you a room to sleep in." Kasai got up and frowned.
"But Chiko I always sleep in your room. Where else would I sleep?" he questioned.
"The girl, Hira she’s staying in my room it would be rude to push her out. Remember never Chiko in this house love, call me Kagami."
"That names a cruel joke! I will never call you that! Those old geezers can answer to me if they want to force me they can just try." Kasai’s Hair stood on end as he spoke but it smoothed down once he saw the look Kagami gave him. "Fine fine I’ll stay in a guest room and I’ll cal you Kagami."
Kagami walked through her mirror and Kasai stood up to leave and Hira’s eyes widened, realizing the hallway where she was was the only one the could go through. Knowing that she didn’t want to run into Kasai while his lover was in a mirror down the hall, she stood up franticly and looked around for an escape.
There was a small poof sound, and Hira the wolf ran franticly out of the castle into the courtyard, running into Takaji and knocking him down. He looked back at what had ran him over to see a small wolf running in circles around the courtyard, obviously freaked out about something. He chuckled to himself and got up, walking over to her and grabbing her by the nape of the neck to stop her running.
“What’s wrong? Is your tail on fire or something?” He said, still chuckling. Hira let out a small yelp and looked up at him glaring and growling. He let go of her and sat down.
“Oh shutup. You know werewolves never turn into wolves unless were freaked out.” She said, still glaring.
Takaji’s eyes got a wickedly evil spark in them. “Well change back and tell me what happened then.” He said quietly, reaching out to scratch her ears. “Come on, be a good puppy and tell.”
Hira bit his hand and glared. Around his hand in her mouth she muttered, “You know I can’t change back for a while you bastard.” Biting his hand harder she added, “And you don’t want to know what I saw, just know that if Kasai knew that I saw I’d be a living room rug.”
Takaji turned pale as Hira bit into his hand. “Ow ow god sorry let go or I‘ll let Kasai turn you into that rug!” He growled at her. She let go of his hand and he pulled it back quickly, looking at it. It was bleeding badly and had two deep bite marks where her canines had sunk into his skin. However, as soon as she let go they had already begun to heal. He scowled darkly at her, then raised an eyebrow. If he didn’t know any better, he’d have thought she looked sorry for what she did.
She sighed and licked his hand softly. “Sorry.” She muttered, laying down and putting her head between her front paws on the ground, looking away from him.
He looked at her in surprise, then smiled. “I didn’t know werewolves knew how to apologize.” He said softly. “Your forgiven.” He reached out his newly healed hand slowly, pausing over her head for a second and then scratching her ears. Hira’s instincts told her to bite him, but she took the opportunity to rest her head on his knee and close her eyes contently.
Takaji smiled a little, since she couldn’t see. “Does it really feel that good?” He asked, petting her back now. Hira nodded and decided to push her luck. She stood up slowly and curled up in his lap, closing her eyes again. Takaji stared at her for a while, then looked around. Seeing no one, he continued to pet her until he was sure she was asleep, then kissed the top of her head, smiling. “Sleep well little wolf.” He whispered.
Kasai peered out in the courtyard and glared. “What is he thinking? She’s a dirty werewolf.” He muttered softly, before going to his room, smoldering with anger. Kagami ran after him though her mirrors.
“Kasai, wait!!” She yelled, panting for breath as she caught up to him in her room. “Kasai, that girl is nice. Don’t judge her because she’s a werewolf!” She pressed her hands to the glass as Kasai pulled a sword from his bag.
He gave her a stern look. “Chiko, I can’t let Takaji be lured in by that..that mutt!” He growled. “God knows what shes planning.” With that, he put the sword into its sheith in his belt and walked out of the room.
