Alley of Death
I walk down the street
and I see people
lying in boxes in these
 alleys of death
I hear a sound
A sob,
 in the distance
I follow the sound
Corner after corner
The crying is growing
 louder
I can hear the tears
 dropping
Searching,
 I find a darkened alley
There, huddled in the corner,
a child...with a body
her hands clutching its shirt
I call out to her,
 and startled, she turns
fading away
I can still hear her sobs
but the reason for her grief
is lying dead
 in this
Alley of Death.
