General Celtic Paganism and Mythology Links

The Fairy-Faith in Celtic Countries
W.Y. Evans-Wentz's classic book, now online. Lots of anecdotal evidence of faeries, plus in-depth musings about the Celtic myths and the Otherworld. Not to be missed. A copy of this can also be found at the Internet Sacred Texts Archive.

The Witches' Sabbats
This is a collection of writings on Celtic (mostly Welsh) myth and its connections with today's Wiccan Sabbats. The author, Mike Nichols, has many insightful things to say, especially on the subject of Llew, Blodeuwedd, and Goronwy. He also has done a lot of research into old pagan customs related to the Wheel of the Year. And his "Pagan Carmina Gadelica" is beautiful!

Lady of the Depths
An article by Leigh Ann Hussey about the Goddess of Sovereignty, often seen as connected with water. Focuses on the Lady of the Lake, Brigid, and Ceridwen.

The Sisterhood of Avalon
I'd be pounding down their doors begging for membership if it weren't for one word in their belief statement, the word "passive" used to describe the feminine energy. IMHO, that reinforces Victorian stereotypes about women, stereotypes we're better off without. But don't let my politics stop you; it's a great source about the Welsh Goddesses.

Welsh Witchcraft
Warning: This site will play music at you, and if you have an old computer, its Java might crash it. It's very interesting and useful, though.

Lugodoc's Guide to Celtic Mythology
A "quick and dirty" overview of the major myth cycles, told in a breezy and irreverent style.

Goddess Art

Damosels of the Table Round
Beautiful original illustrations of several Arthurian ladies by Gina M. Barrett, with excerpts from Malory.

Hrana's Goddess Gallery
Includes artwork by Hrana Janto and text by Patricia Monaghan. The art is gorgeous, and the text very informative...put together, this is a heckuva Goddess site!

ArtMagick
Focuses mainly on the Pre-Raphaelite painters. Dreamy and lush nineteenth-century art, much of which depicts mythological themes and the beauty of women.

Midnight Muse
Another Pre-Raphaelite collection. Smaller than ArtMagick, but better organized.

The Goddess Art of Jonathon Earl Bowser
A modern artist who paints sensual Goddess images in a style he calls "Mythic Naturalism". His women are quite thin and yet it doesn't feel like he's being a pig about it. His beautiful art can be seen on my Guinevere, Elaine, Fand, Caer, and Cliodna pages.

Ericka Baque's "Rat Star Arts"
Fantasy, faery, gothic, vampire, and anime-style art, done in a bright and lush style.

The Enchanted Art of Jessica Galbreth
As seen on my Blodeuwedd page. Lots of gorgeous stuff.

Random Disorganized Links

Rose's Realm
One of my very best friends. She calls herself the Goth~Faerie Brat Princess. This is her lovely web site. :)

The Internet Sacred Text Archive
This site is a treasure trove. There are texts from almost any religion you can think of, and if you click on "Traditional" you will find the Internet Book of Shadows, a list of pagan writings from the early days of the web, including material from Mike Nichols, Doreen Valiente, and Raven Grimassi. Tons of information, invocations, and creative writing.

Encyclopedia Mythica
This site is just what it sounds like, an encyclopedia of myths. There are entries for goddesses and gods from all around the world. This site is good for getting a general overview about a mythological subject.

Spiral Goddess Grove
This site is lovely (and graphics-heavy). It is dedicated to the worship of the Lady, and you can find virtual altars here to many different goddesses. There is also a Green Man Grove.

Tarot Passages
A wonderful tarot page. It includes a very comprehensive list of deck reviews, plus tips on how to make a tarot deck. I stop by here often.

The Witches' Voice
A great source for finding pagans near you.

Fabrisia's Boschetto
This is the number one link for anyone starting an exploration of Stregheria (Italian witchcraft), hands down. This site is packed with information that you can't necessarily find at your local chain bookstore.

The Goddess Diana
Information from Patricia Monaghan's book _The New Book of Goddesses and Heroines_, about the Italian goddess Diana, and how she was worshipped before the Romans melded her into the figure of Artemis.

The Temple of Diana
Legends, invocations, poetry, art, and much, much more. Includes some great information on Lake Nemi, where Diana was worshipped in ancient Italy.

Sitting Shiva
This page belongs to Dracona Calandra, a Strega...her page is under heavy construction right now, but knowing her, it will be great.

The Lizard's Gift
Another Strega Page! This one is Krystlhawk's. She is a very talented artist who makes beautiful pagan jewelry...you have to stop by and see this!

Aradia: The Gospel of the Witches
Charles Leland's book, written over a hundred years ago, is largely misunderstood as a book of "black magick." While there are a few "cursing" spells contained herein, it is also filled with lovely invocations (including the original Charge of the Goddess) and charming folk tales, all in the name of the goddess Diana.

Stregheria
Home page of Raven Grimassi, a modern writer on, and practitioner of, Stregheria.

Witch Way Galleries
Amazing and almost dizzying computer-generated graphics; the cauldron on my front page is an example.

The Icon Bazaar
Lots of general icons, bars, and backgrounds.

Celtic Faery
Celtic clip art and other cool stuff. Currently dormant; hopefully it will be up again soon.

Imagine Backgrounds
Some cool backgrounds can be found here.

Quinlan Road
I don't know if she ever set out to be the first lady of pagan music, but that's what Loreena McKennitt has become. This is her official web site.

HTML Goodies
Web design tutorials.
