My
Testimony
Where to start....
Well.. I was born into a Christian Family.  Raised Christian.  And I'm a Christian... a follower of Christ.
I attened church regularly... the sermons were long and boring...  it wasn't the funnest, but I didn't mind it too much.
It wasn't until the spring of 1999 until I relized what I had really wasn't much at all.  It started with the study we were doing in youth group.  It was called "Experiencing God."  It was then that I learned that I needed a personal relationship with God.  It's not just believing and asking Jesus in your heart, which I had done many years before. Probably between 4 and 7 I knew I needed him to get to heaven.... but I didn't know much else.
My youth group of 3 also went to Fast break that year also.  Fast break is an event for junior high youth groups to come and hear a speaker and do fun things at another town.  There they talked about a relationship with God also.  For the next year about that's was a main emphasis, I heard a lot.  A sad statisitic I heard was about 50% of people that go to church on a regular basis don't have a relationship with God at all.  So I worked on that. Another aspect I learned about a relationship is reading God's word daily.  I am happy to say I do that almost every day.
Recently there is another wave of emphasis going around.  PRAYER.  Prayer is talking to God... and in order to have a relationship, you need to talk.  For me, this is a struggle.  I could never keep my attention on praying for very long... my mind would wondering and I'd forget about praying.  A couple things that have helped me is either write what you're praying on paper and getting on my knees.  Both these keep my attention on God Almighty.
On I almost forgot.  My missions trip to Jamaica.  That was awesome.

Sunday Night Worship/Praise Service.  In late 99 into early 00 i went to this meeting almost every sunday.  It was really awesome.  We'd spend an hour to an hour and a half singing, then someone speaks.  Sometimes it was Mike, the middle aged man who organized the service.  Other times it's someone else that attends and has a real passion for God.  Then it's a time of ministry or prayer.  It was one of my favorite times.  It has ended, at least being at my church.  But there is a worship service at anther church, I have of yet to go though.
Right now I'm doing very well with my faith.  I'm keeping up with my prayer and bible times... other days I'm not doing so well.  But I've always believed in God and will continue to do so even though i have moments were i questions, but they don't last more than a second.
My church purchased a trailer and called it the Teen Center.  It was good for a while, but then it's use fell.  It's not used much, but my youth group is/will be planning ways to fix it up and get using it to reach teens and give them a place to hang out.  If you would, please pray for us.  Prayer is an awesome thing.  Speaking with God gives such peace and a feeling of pure love.  Try it out.  Have faith and believe.
May God be with you and bless you.
