Burmecia
I looked around Burmecia. I was back home. Everyone was helping
out on the repairs. I walked around the village and asked everyone if they
needed my help. They all replied with a shake of their heads and told me to
rest. I had strained myself a few days ago when I was trying to slay all the
monsters that settled in Burmecia.
No one was around at the
time and I was finally outnumbered. The task seemed simple to me, but the
creatures seemed to keep coming. Right when I killed one, three others came. I
was strong, but I was out there for over twelve hours without any items. I
needed to rest, but couldn’t.
Both Freya and Sir Fratley
found me, out cold, leaning against the fountain. They were puzzled when they
found me. Who wouldn’t be? I looked horrible. My clothes were torn, I was
drenched with blood, and there were body parts all over the place from the
monsters I had been fighting. Try imagining that.
I walked around Burmecia for a few more moments and gave up. I headed back towards my home. I let out a small sigh as I did.
“I wonder what happened to Cleyra,” I said to myself. “When I got there, it was gone,” I opened the door to my house and closed the door quietly. “I was training with Isaac all that time. If only I was there to help everyone…”
A small sound of a moogle was heard when I entered. It was Ricky. He flew over to me and rested on my left shoulder. The small moogle smiled and flapped his wings slightly.
“Kupo, hello, Christopher,” Ricky said with a smile. “I was told to give you a message from someone at Daguerreo, kupo.”
“Really?” I said. “Who was it?”
Ricky flew off my shoulder and landed on my table. “Kupo, it was from your cousin, Darth, kupo. He said that he found a book at Daguerreo with your family seal on the cover. Kupo po ku.”
I crossed my arms and cocked an eyebrow. “Oh. How was this message sent?”
“Kupo. Simple. Kupo. He flew by on his dragon and told me. Kupo.”
“Ha,” I smirked. “I understand. Alright then.”
I set my lance next to the table and walked over to one of the bedrooms. I opened the door carefully and walked inside. Ricky followed me. There were two children sleeping inside the room. One White Mage, Atver, and one Black Mage, Trevornous. I had been taking care of the two since my sparring partner, Isaac, had disappeared a few days ago.
As far as I know, Atver was Isaac’s son. So was Trevornous, but I wasn’t quite sure why he was a Black Mage. Isaac was a Red Mage. His wife, Adriana, was a White Mage. The fact that Trevornous was a Black Mage made me wonder. Why is he a Black Mage? Is he really Isaac and Adriana’s child?
“Kupo,” Ricky said softly, yet in a slightly annoyed tune. “They’ve been sleeping all day.”
I smiled. “They’re tired, Ricky. They were awake all night, correct?”
“Yeah, yeah. Kupo. You told me to put them to bed early before you left, kupo, but I forgot. Trevornous almost burnt the house.”
Atver was merely six years old. He would turn seven in two more months. Isaac told my that before he had disappeared. Trevornous was twelve years old. He would turn thirteen in five more months. Isaac had told me that as well.
Ricky flew over to them and landed on Trevornous’ bed. He hopped slightly and woke the young black mage abruptly. Trevornous rapidly got up and jumped off the bed. He looked around then glared at the arrogant moogle…or was he the arrogant one…
“Dang moogle!” Trevornous yelled. “I thought I was being attacked!”
Atver woke up slowly from Trevornous’ holler. He sat up and stretched.
“What happened?” The young White Mage asked as he let out a small yawn.
“Ricky just woke Trevornous,” I replied with an annoyed expression on my face. “Stop that, you two. I’ll be off on my way to Daguerreo soon.”
“Daguerreo?” Atver asked. “Can we come?”
Trevornous calmed down and looked up at me. “Daguerreo? How are you going to get there?”
“Hmm…” I put my right hand under my chin and said nothing for a moment. “…I do not exactly know.”
Atver hopped off his bed and walked over to me. He looked up and smiled. “Why don’t I summon a dragon to take us there?”
I looked down at him and quirked a brow. “You can do that?”
He nods. “I have this dragon that my mother had given me last year. I can summon him anytime I want. If only she could see how much I have improved on controlling him. Too bad she’s dead now…”
I frown and say nothing.
Ricky flies over to me and rests on my shoulder again. “Kupo. Don’t feel pity, Christopher. Atver’s alright now. Adriana died saving Trevornous and his own life, kupo. He understands.”
Atver looked down at the floor and sighed. “Yes…”
Trevornous stood by Atver and patted him slightly on the back. “Hey, Atver. That was all a few months ago. Lets put it all behind us. Alright?”
“Okay…”
I smiled at the two. They got along quite well as far I as I know. Trevornous may be cruel at times, but if you ask me, he was a clearly just pretending to be vulgar.
“I’ll meet you three outside,” I said as I headed out the door.
