Travallian’s Strange Ability

I hear a knock on the cover of the coffin. “Wake up, Travallian!”

I lifted the cover off of the coffin and saw Flarth by Silest’s side.

“I guess that I coming outside with you. Neither of us backed out!” Flarth smirks. “I may not have won, but I still never lose a bet!”

“You two must go outside now! The full moon’s coming out! I have to stay inside so I don’t go through becoming a werewolf!”

“Chicken!” Flarth starts clucking like a chicken in front of Silest.

She smacks him on the back of his head. “Stop that. When I ever do decide to go outside in a full moon, you’re gonna be my first victim!”

“Eep! Okay! Okay! I’m sorry!”

I pass through the door and look at them from outside, “Could we get through with this? I’m getting tired of waiting!”

“Which form of yours did Zen cast the spell on?” Flarth asks me.

“I don’t know… Do you know, Silest?”

“All your forms.”

“You serious?” I frown.

“Yes. Since Zen wanted to cast that spell on you, all your forms are affected by the spell. Only your Yoshi form was affected by the vampire spell because it was an accident.”

“I’ll stay on my Yoshi form. I don’t want to see my Paratroopa self go through being a werewolf just yet.”

“Just the thought of a Hyper werewolf hedgehog makes me want to hide somewhere and laugh to myself,” Flarth turns to me, “Hyper Werewolf Zepher!”

“Don’t give me thoughts, Flarth. I might end up running you over on werewolf hedgehog form. Sounds kind of weird to me,” I close my eyes. When my I open my eyes, they have changed from sky blue to emerald green.

“Hey! What’s up with your eyes?” Flarth scratches his head.

Silest pushes Flarth outside and shuts the door closed.

“What do you mean?” I ask Flarth.

“… They were blue before. They changed to green now. A shade sort of like my own eyes.”

“My eyes? Haven’t you noticed? My eyes have been always like that.”

“No. I have never even seen your eyes do that before. Strange. I know that in the past, your eyes never did that.”

“Whatever you say,” I walk toward a small hill in front of Sil’s cabin. Flarth follows me. I stop right at the top. I stare up into the sky, waiting for the clouds to pass. Right away, as the moon can be seen in the night sky, I felt a strange feeling come over me. I fell to the ground, putting a hand on my chest and my other hand on the ground. “Urgh…” I felt my orange hair flowing in the wind, fur growing beneath my scales and slowly appearing on the surface, the pointed teeth on my bottom jaw growing longer, and furry pointed ears appear on the sides of my head. A sudden overpowering force hits me and I let out a painful howl. I close my eyes tight. I had the urge to run away somewhere, but I stayed and clutched my chest with my fur-covered claws.

“”I-I shan’t run. I must resist temptation!” I was ready to give up and give in to my feelings. I started to shed tears, but I stopped as I heard a sound of my emerald sword being unsheathed behind me. A sudden flash of blinding light from my emerald sword suddenly stopped the pain. As I felt the light fade, I opened my eyes and got up to turn to Flarth who had been shielding his eyes from the light and holding my emerald sword as well.

“Travallian? Are you okay?” He lowers his arm away from his face and handing back my sword.

“Yes,” I took my sword from Flarth. “I feel quite fine now. I thank you.”

“No need for thanks. I had to do it! It looked like you were in a lot of pain!”

My emerald sword, once again, flashes, but in a dimmer, golden-like light. In my hands I hold my sword tight. I return to my vampire Yoshi state. I feel its power surging through me. I close my eyes for a few seconds, and then open them again to reveal that my eyes have changed to gold.

“I now have the power to howl under the light of the moon anytime I please,” My voice sounds doubled as I say these words. “I can now control my werewolf transformation anytime of day or night.”

“Trav? What’s going on here?” Flarth gives me a confused look.

“Keshi Travallian HardSlash is the one who possesses I. The one who uses my power. The one destined to be successful in defeating all his foes. I am one from your family who has passed away who is now in Travallian’s jewel of red magic and transformation. With my power, I make him the strongest from the four children of Cassandra and Lasereth HardSlash,” my emerald sword glows brighter.

“Tra…vallian?” Flarth’s sapphire claws start to glow as well. “What the!?”

“You are the one who possesses the jewel of red magic and transportation. Flarthenter HardSlash, you are one that is very loyal to my your twin brother and your friends, but you seem to hide it a lot. Your red magical powers make you the second strongest from the four.”

“Hmm. There’s someone talking through Trav somehow.” Silest walks outside and stands by Flarth’s side. “Who is it?”

“Hey! You are not a werewolf, Sil!” Flarth gives her a surprised look.

“Yes. I think it has something to do with Trav and his emerald.”

“Perhaps,” Flarth frowns.

“I have temporarily blocked the moon’s light from touching this location,” My emerald talks through me once more. “Silest Wing HardSlash. You possess the jewel of white magic and memory. You are the second child of the HardSlash family. Your white magical powers make you the most protected by wounds from the four, yet also makes you the weakest on attack power.”

“What about Zen?” Flarth asks curiously.

“Zenith CrescentMoon. Chose to use his mother’s last name. One who possesses the jewel of black magic and time. He is the first-born child of the HardSlash family. He is a headstrong Paratroopa, or Magikoopa, boy wanting to be the best in the family. His black magic makes him strong against many elements, but, without white magic, also gives him a disadvantage against strong physical attacks,” I bow to both Silest and Flarth. “When all four children together, you all become truly strong and unstoppable.”

“Great! Now all we need to do is get Zen!” Flarth interrupts me.

“But, there is a problem. Zen is covered with hate over my master, Travallian. I have a feeling that you must fight him first then he’ll join you,” my golden eyes start to fade. “Ah… Soon Travallian will return to his old self. Farewell, my grandchildren.”

“Wait a second!” Flarth says loudly, “How come this happened now? How can you be talking through Trav?”

“He faced one of his greatest fears. That is what triggered me,” my golden eyes start to fade even more. “Farewell… This is not the last you’ll hear from me,” my eyes return to their original sky blue colour. I collapse, face first, on to the ground with my emerald sword at my side.

Right when I collapsed, Silest ran back into her cabin and slammed the door.

“Interesting,” Flarth pauses to think, “…Did he just say ‘grandchildren’ then returned Trav to his normal self?” he looks down at me. “You okay there?”

“Yes…” I slowly get up. I suddenly hear something fly behind, I turn to see what it was, but then an arrow hits me on my right cloak sleeve. I let out a loud, growl.

Man! Too close for comfort! I thought to myself. While I pull the arrow out of my sleeve, I hear a coldhearted laugh behind me. I turn to see that it was a Paratroopa boy with a wild blond hairstyle.
