Old Friends Found

As I walk deeper in the forest, I shift my eyes side to side. I begin to have a feeling as if someone was following me. I hear a sudden snapping sound of a tree branch behind me. I quickly turn around. Seeing no one there. I ignore my feelings then continue to walk farther into the forest.

Suddenly I hear a loud cry for help in one direction. I run in the direction of where I heard the cry. I see a young yoshi girl surrounded by five yoshi vampires. I hide behind a bush, hoping not to be spotted. "You creeps better not touch me! You will face my great power if you do," I hear the yoshi girl shout out.

The yoshi vampires look at each other, smirk then look back at her. "I strongly doubt that, child," the lead vampire says.

"Crap. Err, um. You don't know how strong I am! If only you knew how strong my power is. I am Fliter! The niece of Lasereth HardSlash,"

"Heh! I have never heard of him!" the lead vampire says.

I smirk from hearing the name Lasereth HardSlash. I look at my staff and notice that the emerald was starting to glow.

Hmm. Maybe I can try out a transformation spell with this emerald. It would be better than just hiding behind this bush and just watching. I thought. I quietly move farther away from the group of vampires and the girl, making sure that I won't get noticed too soon.

When I feel that I am far enough, I hold my staff in front of me. I close my eyes and start to concentrate. I feel the light of my emerald glow brighter. From under me, blue smoke started to appear. The smoke surrounds me and I started to feel my body changing shape.

The smoke suddenly disappears. I open my eyes. I look at myself. I see that my outfit has changed and now I had a blue tail and blue scales and my feathered wings became dragon like. I ran a finger down my teeth and felt two, long, pointed fangs on my top jaw.

Oh great! Now I'm a vampire Yoshi. Well, it's too late to try to transform again. I thought with a sigh.

I run back to where the vampires and that girl, Fliter was and see that they were still talking. "Man! This child will not stop yapping!" one of the vampire Yoshis say, "I can't stand it! Lets just kill her already!"

"Like you would actually manage to even touch me!" Fliter shouts out.

I silently laugh to myself. Fliter seems to have such a snobby, loud mouth that they can't even lay a finger on her.

I jump up high, hitting a few tree branches, making a slight twig breaking sound. I sit on a branch and watch them from above.

"W-what was that?" Fliter nervously says.

"All of you are pathetic! I have been watching you all for a long time. I would have expected one of you to bite this girl by now," I jump off the tree right in front of Fliter and facing the vampires. "Could she really be that much of an annoyance to every single one of you I see before me?"

"Oh, yeah. And who might you be?" the lead vampire ask me.

"That is not of any importance right now," I reply. "I shall be taking this girl out of this forest now. You shall not be following me."

"And what if we do follow you? Hmm?"

I wave my emerald staff and a Holy beam hits the ground in front of the lead vampire. "Want to sacrifice your life? Kid?"

"Don't call me kid. My name is Reggie Trans Yoshell," he says.

"What an odd name,"

"So? I don't even knows yours!"

"Fine. I shall tell you my name," I quickly think. Since I'm no longer a paratroopa at the time, I had to use the last name I have heard Mega Flare say. "My name is Keshi Travallian HardSlash,"

"What! HardSlash?" Fliter shouts out. She then grabs my arm and starts examining me. When she finally looks me in the eye, her mouth drops. "It is you! From all these years I finally see you again, cousin Keshi!"

I give her a confused look. I don't remember her at all. I have only seen her now! I thought to myself. I pull my arm away from her then turn back at Trans.

"It seems that you two know each other," he smirks.

"I don't remember ever seeing her before in my entire life. This is the first time I have seen her!"

Trans walk toward me. He looks at me then Fliter. "This is strange. I have a feeling that I have seen you before as well. I remember seeing someone that had those same sky blue eyes and that attitude of yours, Travallian. I thought of him as my rival when we were children. He had the power to transform into anything that he has encountered. He strangely disappeared all of a sudden one day. My memory is slightly blurred, but I think he had a emerald staff and his name was Travallian." He stares at my emerald staff. "Could it be you?" He turns to the other vampires. "Leave to our hideout at once! I shall return there when needed," he commands them.

They all nod their heads then fly away from the forest then out of sight. Reggie turns back to me. ?Hmm. Just to make sure, here's a little test!" he takes my emerald staff. "Hey, Trav! If I were to break this, what would happen? Huh? Huh?"

"Trans! Don't you dare do such a thing!" I say automatically without thinking and take my emerald staff back. I put a hand over my mouth.

"Ah, ha! It is you! You always say that when I took your staff and said that I was going to break it! That was the only thing that annoyed you! That's about one of the things I remember from when we were kids!"

"Keshi, where were you all this time?" Fliter asked me.

"I-I-I have been living with a koopa couple that took care of me well. I only remember being with them all my life. I don't remember anything about you two,"

"Hmm... I know a fast way to get out of this forest. We'll talk more when we're out of here. Oh, yeah. Fliter, don't whine about all that me biting you stuff, okay? I was holding them back for you; I wouldn't want you to become a vampire! That's a real scary thought! Having an immortal brat around me that long will drive me mad!"

"Oh! What a nice thing to say, Regg!" Fliter says sarcastically.

I laugh at them both.

We were at a village near the forest. We were in a spell and potion shop. As I looked at the stop's selection, I then looked over at Reggie and Fliter, noticing that they were still fighting.

"When I mentioned Lasereth HardSlash, you said that you never heard of him?"

"I had to! If I said that I did know him, my vampire underlings would have turned on me,"

"When in the world did you become a vampire and a leader of a whole group of 'em?"

"It's a real long story! You wouldn't understand,"

"You calling me stupid?"

"No! I am not!"

"Could you two just shut up!" I finally say. "You two are giving me a splitting headache! This feeling feels quite familiar now!"

"Hey! What about you, Keshi! Why are you a vampire yoshi anyway?" Fliter asks.

"Yeah, Travallian! Why are you a vampire as well as me?" Reggie adds onto what Fliter said.

"Well, uh," it seems that they stopped fighting each other and now have turned to me. "When I was in the forest, I tried out a transformation spell and the spell just turned out this way,"

"Is that possible?"

"I agree with Fliter! Is it truly possible to just transform into a vampire?"

"I don't know. Don't ask me why that happened, Trans, Flite. That was the first time I did a transformation spell in... In how many years?"

"I'm guessing about eight years when we were all eight years old before you disappeared," Trans replies with a shrug.

"Eight years?! I went missing at the age of eight? I should have remembered something about that!"

"Maybe you had amnesia," Fliter says.

"Why do I know my name then, and if I did have amnesia, shouldn't it have wore off or something?"

They both shrug at me, I then sigh. We all walk out the spell and potion shop and went into an inn to get some rest.
