I Understand Now

I was standing on an edge of a cliff. I stared down at my kingdom. It was peaceful, calm, and full of villagers. I smiled. I was happy to be home. I closed my eyes for a moment. When I opened my eyes, I was no longer looking down at my home; I was looking down at a field with three beings fighting in the background.

Two Paratroopa knights were fighting a dark red demon. They were wearing helmets so I couldn’t identify them. The knight with the bronze armor seemed to be having trouble, but the knight in the dark blue chain mail seemed to be fighting fine, but he was wounded.

“You foolish creatures shall perish. No one can stop me!” The demon growled.

“That’s what you think, Altrovos!” The knight in the dark blue chain mail says in a confident tone.

“Think what you want, Travallian. Hahaha!”

The knight in the chain mail flew at him and casts a strong fire spell. Altrovos stumbles back, but wasn’t damaged very badly. The knight in the bronze ran towards the monster and stuck down with his sword, but was smacked out of the way. When the knight hit the side of the cliff, his helmet flew off. My eyes widened. It was my father.

“I will not let you down…” The knight in the chain mail said in thought, but somehow, I heard it. “I have a plan,” He started to glow in a bright green. He ran at the demon and rammed himself into it. The knight unsheathed a glowing sword made of emerald and impaled the horrible creature with it. It roared an awful unholy sound that made me wince a little.

That sword. That’s…my sword? Could that be…me? I thought to myself. It can’t be… No. I know it isn’t. It’s not me… I’m sure of it…but why does he have my name?

The blood red demon wrapped its tail around the knight. It tightened it grip around him. He said nothing. The demon strikes off the knight’s helmet with its mighty claws and then clawed his throat. The knight in chain mail finally yelled painfully.

That knight…he’s blond like my father and has a different hairstyle, but he almost looks like me. I thought then shook my head. Who is he?

“No! Father!” My father yelled. He got up and casts holy at the demon. It flinched and loosened his tail around the knight.

Father? Ah…I get it… This must be the past.

The knight fell hard onto the ground limp. My father ran over to him. I turned my attention back the demon. The emerald sword was still pierced through its right shoulder. Blood ran gushed out of the wound. I turned back to my father and my grandfather.

“D-don’t worry about me, Lasereth,”

“Father! Don’t give up!” My father exclaims.

“This is not…the end. Don’t worry…” He turned his head towards the top of the cliff and I could clearly see his eyes. I have his eyes… “Take care of yourself,” my grandfather closes his eyes and vanishes in blue mist, into the sword. The sword flashes and the demon continues to roar madly.

“Travallian! What has he done to me?!” The demon coldly says and suddenly turns into a crystal. The emerald sword falls onto the ground beside the crystal. My father picks the crystal and sword up and lets out a sigh.

I stared at the ground and jumped off the cliff. I walked up to my father. Of course, he didn’t notice me.

“Father… You will not be forgotten. Your kingdom is now free from this monster’s evil. I will rule this island the way you would want me to…”

Suddenly, I find myself in front of Silest’s house on the time when I became a werewolf. I looked around and saw Flarth and Silest listening to…me? I then looked at myself. I was transparent. Walks walked towards them. I looked more closely. My vampire Yoshi body seemed to be in a trance. My eyes were a golden color. I was talking in my grandfather’s voice, I wonder if Flarth or Silest even noticed that my voice had change. I looked more closely. There was a transparent figure of Travallian the first talking in front of my Yoshi form. When he was done talking, he turned to me. I just stood there, staring curiously.

“I am showing you all this so you will understand,” he said with a slight smile.

“You are?” I reply. “How are you?”

“Your emerald. Don’t forget that. Summon me whenever you need my help,” he pats me on the shoulder. “There’s more I have to show you,” he raises his left arm. “It’s about my, Mega Flare.”

The whole area suddenly becomes black. In front of I, I see both Altrovos and Mega Flare. Mega Flare starts running towards me then stops right in front of me.

“Save yourself,” he says with a pant. “Altrovos is out for revenge. He is after you!”

I look past him and see Altrovos moving towards us. The look on his face was menacing. I grabbed on to Flare’s arm and flew up. Altrovos just missed us.

I shook my head. “I’m not leaving you alone,” I told him.

He backs away a bit and floats there in front of me. “It’s too late. He got me. I’m trapped…” He cringes. “I’m under his control.”

“We will free you! I promise you,” I look down at Altrovos. “He doesn’t seem so tough. Come on…all I see is demon-like creature with an angry look on his face.”

“Ha! You think just like Travallian use to,” he said as blood ran down his mouth. “You are him in a way. A reincarnation, you could say.”

“Heh…” I grunted. “I am he. I am Travallian. I am back to protect my people.”

“Good to hear, kid,” he smiles. “Or should I say my Lord?”

Suddenly, Altrovos leaps up and grabs my leg. I instantly unsheathed my sword and pierced it through his arm before he could do anything. He shrilled and suddenly slashed my right leg three times with his other claw. I cursed as blood ran down my leg. He cackled. I swung my sword right across his face. Flare started saying something, but there was no time to listen…

I woke up breathing deeply and eyes wide open. Looked around. Zeo was sleeping on the bed closest to mine. I smiled. I turned my head forward and saw my father sitting on the edge on the bed.

“What’s wrong?” He said without looking at me.

I explained my dream to him. “Your father’s name was Travallian?”

“Yeah. I named you after my father,” he turns around and smiles. “You act so much like him too.”

“I do?” I frown. I turn my head towards my emerald sword leaning beside my bed. I smirk.

“That was his and now it’s yours. You possess his emerald. His soul lives inside it. His fighting spirit is now part of you.”

I pulled the covers to the side. “…I’m going out to find Mega Flare right now,” I pulled the covers off, picked up my sword, and then jumped off the bed, right in front of the door, and ran out.

My father smiles as he watches me run out.
