Suddenly, the creature roars angrily. "I shall end your foolish lives now, you weak little things!"

| All of a Sudden | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I opened my eyes and got up. It felt as if something hit me on the head really hard, yet, I can't remember what. I felt the burning heat hit my face. I looked around, trying to find my parents in the ruins of the small village that I was currently in. I called out in all directions, hoping to get an answer. I flew around some of the destroyed, burning homes, noticing that no one was there. I guess that everyone left the village to safety. Finally, I see a weird glowing flash in a small part of the village. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I flew there and found my mother and father helplessly trying to fight some kind of creature. I could not quiet see the creature. It looked dark and blurred from the heat and it also was hard to see because of where I was standing. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I managed to sort of see my father try to strike the strange creature with some kind of sharp object, yet he fails and the creature claws him on the chest. I was about to fly right at the creature then strike it with my staff, but then my mother spots me watching the horrid fight and quickly blocks me. "Stay here, Travallian. It wouldn't be wise to interfere," She says while putting her hand on my shoulder, looking at me with a commanding, yet, sort of sad look. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "What do you mean? Father might, and by the looks of it, may die!" I point at the area where my father and the creature were. "I must do something! I must at least give him some kind of medical help or get him away from that thing!" | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "I am sorry, but I can not allow you, Travallian! I want to make sure that you live at the end of this horrible disaster." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Why is that? Why can't I make sure that you and father live as well?" I said, filled with rage. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "I don't want to risk you getting hurt, son. Now please, stay here," She then leaves me alone then runs off to help my father. I just stand there, angry, yet, worried for her and my father. I say nothing; I close my eyes then face the ground, letting out a sigh and slowly looking back at where they were fighting. I see my mother managing to hit the creature with her dagger, but I then see my father badly trying to fight the creature, even though he was badly clawed on the chest, bleeding, and short of breath. Suddenly, the creature roars angrily. "I shall end your foolish lives now, you weak little things!" |

| My eyes widen. Hearing the words that came out of the creature's mouth made me want to attack. I forced myself to stay where I was. The creature raises his arms and then puts them in front of himself, facing my parents. A large dark red and black sort of energy beam comes out of its hands. I noticed that it was going in my mother's direction. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| My father then quickly stands in front of my mother, blocking the beam, yet, sacrificing his own life. The beam pushes him backwards and finally, the beam fades then my father falls to his knees and falls flat on his face. "Foolish thing," I hear the creature's horrible voice say. "Now, for her," it turns to my mother. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Do what you must do to me, I no longer care about what happens to myself," I hear my mother angrily say to the creature. It then kicks her hard. I hear her let out a loud cry. I started to fill with anger, but I knew that her trouble on trying to kill the creature would be all meaningless if I tried to help her. The creature then kicks her once again making her let out an even louder cry, she slowly closes her eyes then dies. "That takes care of them. That was easy, pathetic," The creature says. I glare at the horrible thing. It then looks around then spots me then gives me an evil grin. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Ah! The son of that Lasereth HardSlash," | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Huh!? What are you talking about? I do not understand! Why did you destroy this village and kill my parents?" | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Hmm? Oh, those two that I just defeated. Those are not your real parents," | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "What did you just say? I said slowly. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "You heard me. Those weaklings I have just killed were not your real parents and your real father is traveling somewhere, looking for you," | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Why are you telling me this? Who are you?" | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| He lets out a revolting laugh, ignoring all the questions I had asked. He then throws something at me. I catch the thing then study it. It appeared to be some kind of shinny stone, an emerald with a bright, sparkling glow inside of it. "Why are you giving this to me?" I ask him. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "It's yours. It always has been. I stole it from you when I kidnapped you then threw you somewhere when you were younger. I can?t unlock the stupid thing's power," | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I raise an eyebrow, crossing my arms. "And, why are you telling me this?" | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| He turns away from me. "You'll find out yourself. By the way," he says without looking at me and lowering his hood, revealing his green scales and horns on his head. He was a dragon. "The name's Mega Flare," He then jumps into the air then fades away. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "I say that I know enough than I need to know right now," I smirk. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I turn my attention back at the emerald. I then look at my staff, noticing that it has something on the top where the emerald can fit. I place the emerald on my staff; it's a perfect fit. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I then look around noticing no point in staying in the destroyed village. I walk out of the village, toward a forest. Not knowing what I would find there. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
