New Beginning

Ten years have past since Travallian’s sacrifice. Lasereth was now thirty-two years old. Lasereth was married to a beautiful, royal koopa. Her name was Cassandra. They lived in a castle in the Center of Pyro Crystal Island. They both lived happily with their two children, Zenith and Silest. Zenith was born seven years ago. Silest was born four years ago. Today was the exact day that Travallian banished Altrovos. Today was the day when the couple was expecting two more children.

Both Zenith and Silest played in the room as Lasereth and Cassandra watched the koopa eggs. The children were playing tag. Silest was chasing Zen around the room. She managed to tackle her brother within a few minutes. They both fell right in front of the koopa eggs.

The two koopa eggs started to crack slowly. The first to hatch was a koopa with glowing green eyes. The second to hatch was a koopa a black outline around the dark green part of his eyes. They both had red hair. The first had faded orange hair while the second literally had hair the color of blood. They were both male.

Zenith moved closer to the twins and poked them. The one with the dark green eyes growled and bit his finger. Zen squeaked. Lasereth laughed and rubbed his hand over his eldest son’s head.

“Careful,” He said as he chuckled. “That one’s dangerous.”

“I see, father, I see,” Zen put his bitten finger into his mouth and sucked on it.

“What should we name him?” Cassandra asked.

“Why not Flarthenter, mom?” Silest suggested. “Sounds good to me.”

“Sounds good to me as well,” Cassandra agrees with her young daughter. “Flarthenter is it,” she looks at the first one of the twins. She looks at his hair and smiles. His hair reminded her of a poppy. “Lets call him Keshi.”

Lasereth smirked. He right away knew what he had to do. The first of the twins’ eyes twinkled in an emerald shade. He unsheathed his father’s sword and pointed it at the one Cassandra named Keshi. The emerald sword glowed brightly. The koopa infant looked around with a confused look on his face. His hair started to flow in the air and change into a brownish color. Small, feathered wings grew on his back. Lasereth sheaths the sword and a pleasing grin appears on his face.

“Just as I thought,” he said. He turns to his wife then nods slightly. “Yes. We’ll call him Keshi, but he is, what I believe is, the chosen one. My father was just like him when he himself was a child. His hair use to be orange-blond, like Keshi here, until he encountered four magical jewels in his own father’s secret chamber in this very castle when he was only seven years old. Right when he touched the emerald, this emerald, he began to glow his hair became brown. As he matured, his hair, once again, changed into a golden blond. We shall call him Travallian as well as Keshi in honor of my father. He was a great and kind ruler.”

Cassandra smiles sweetly at her husband. “Alright.”

Zen glared at young Travallian. “All this for a former red head brunette soon to be golden blond.”

“Zennie,” Silest frowned. “I can’t understand you.”

“Never mind, Sil,” Zen sighed. He looks up at his father. “Lets go take them to the center of the village and show them to the villagers, father.”

“Sure thing,” Lasereth smiles at his son. “Just what I was going to do, kid,” he picked young Travallian up and Cassandra carried Flarth caringly. “Lets go.”

* * * * *

When they reached the main village of the island, everyone bows as they see the royal family. By Lasereth’s side stood his close friend, Mega Flare. The one who stood by his other side was his father’s former student, Zekoru. They were both loyal to Travallian. They were both good friends with Lasereth.

Lasereth stood proudly at the heart of the village. He held his sons in each arm.

“My people!” He begins. “I have to show you today,” he looks from side to side, “two new additions to my family! One named Flarthenter and the other named Keshi Travallian in honor of my father who sacrificed himself to save this beautiful island!”

All the villagers cheered. Lasereth handed Flarth carefully over to Cassandra and held his free hand up to silence the crowd to speak some more.

“To my belief, I think my son is the chosen one to follow in my father’s foot steps. This child I hold in my hand shall be the next sovereign of this island when I can no longer rule this land.”

“What?” Zen said disappointingly. “But I am the first born, father!”

“Yes, I know,” Lasereth kneels and looks at his eldest son straight in the eye. “You shall be the high wizard and regent.”

“Really?” The selfish young paratroopa grinned. “Will that make me a Magikoopa?”

Lasereth cocked an eyebrow then let out a hoot of laughter. “Sure. You can be whatever you want, son.”

“Yeah!” Zen exclaimed then walked over to his mother feeling pleased.

Both Mega Flare and Zekoru look at Zen then at each other.

“Zekoru,” The noble dragon whispered. “If he ruled over this land, what do you think would happen?”

Zekoru made a face as if he was going to snarl. He glances over at Flare then whispers back, “I don’t want to know. I see evil in his eyes. That child must get his act together before he grows up to be dreadful and bitter.”

“Indeed.”

Silest smiles cheerfully as she listens to her father speak. She turns to look at her older brother.

“Don’t you think baby brother Trava is cute, Zen?” She asks him.

“He’s adorable,” He sneers.

The villagers couldn’t help but smile as they saw the infants, Travallian and Flarth. The two shall face great adventures as they grow up. Silest helps them in times of need. Zenith helps whenever he thinks it’s important to help. You want to know why I know this? I am Travallian the second. My story is just beginning.
