| Kino Makoto is tall, strong and has a reputation for being tough. She lives lives by herself, since her parents had died in a plane accident. When we first see her, she had just transferred to Usagi's school, as she was kicked of her old school for fighting. Makoto might be agressive, but she is not so without a good reason, like standing out for the ones littler than her. She is the humble (usually =), noble hearted, loyal and very strong SailorJupiter. It's difficult to describe Makoto in just a few words, even if she does have some very strong personality traits: She's tough, laid back, loyal, introvert, and self conscious. And it is perhaps this self-consciousness, which has shaped her image and self image more than anything. Makoto would not really see herself as pretty or feminine, and as a result, part of her tries to make up for it, and another part of her plays along with it -- and does a damn fine job at both, too. Thus, Makoto is tough and assertive, but also gentle and quiet. She's naturally graceful, but at times, she's unpolished and rough. She has strived to excel at houskeeping and cooking, but she proudly carries the badge of being the tough one in the bunch. But she carries the melancholy of someone who is not happy with herself, and is always looking to improve herself, often not realizing how wonderful she is. On the surface, Makoto looks shy and a little insecure, but she's very easy to get along with, once one gets to know her, she's kind, easy going, and quite eager to please her friends. Deep inside, she's easy going, and jolly, and is full of hopes and dreams for the future. But Mako is often misunderstood, and sometimes accused of being rough or unrefined -- which she can be, as she tends to forget how strong she is. =) Often, she gets to play the part of the big, jolly protector type, and it kind of suits her, in a cool way. Makoto is a little insecure about her looks. She doesn't think of herself as pretty as the other Soldier -- though Usagi doesn't think so -- nor as feminine (well...), and for this reason she tries her hardest to appear as feminine as she can. But she's actually very graceful, she's a great dancer, and a champion ice skater. Yet, she is also very humble: once she explained her cooking talent as the least she could do to appear femenine. But in essence, Mako-chan is the tough one, and proud of it, since it comes in handy fairly often. And still, she's constantly struggling to balance her tough and feminine sides. Perhaps it is a good thing she managed to meet and befriend Haruka. (SailorUranus) Haruka, both beautiful and strong, not to mention extremely cool, =) becomes a model of sorts for Mako-chan, in the anime. As a warrior, SailorJupiter is a very physical fighter. Her strength alone would be enough to defeat most any enemy, or so she thinks -- she does tend to hit first, think later. However, her fighting skills are remarkable, and she has quite a bit of courage. SailorJupiter also seems a little more vengeful than other Sailor Soldiers, but not in the playful Minako way, more in a "tough" way. SailorJupiter is the third Soldier to join SailorMoon. Mako-chan is often found hanging around Minako-chan, and SailorVenus and SailorJupiter often team up their attacks. =) In the manga, SailorJupiter is supposed to be the Soldier of Protection. Her powers are a little bit more centered on the element of tree/wood. Besides her anime attacks include "Flower Hurricane!" and "Jupiter Coconut Cyclone!" SailorJupiter's powers are lightning/electricity based, and they are very aggressive. |
