These are the basic items you will need after you have decided to reenact. Average cost is around $1500.00 and takes a little time to aquire. Over time many people in reenacting have purchased extra items and are willing to loan items to you until you have purchased your own necessities. Take my advice: If you've decided to begin reenacting, don't "settle" for an item. Go ahead and get the "good stuff" first and be done with it! Take your time and gather good information. There are many sutlers providing these items. Quality tends to vary. Did I mention to take your time and gather good information? Oh, yes!

1. Wool trousers (quality "sky blues" make a good first choice)

6. Wool jacket, gray (Richmond Type II, block "I" buttons recommended first jacket)

7. Wool jacket, blue (Federal 4 button sack recommended first Federal jacket)
