The photos as you see them here are reduced to a 160x120 pixel format. The larger picture you see when you click on one of these is in a 640x480 pixel format. All of the photos were originally taken in an even larger format (1280x960 pixels). I reduced them to conserve space and download time, even though the clarity may have suffered because of it. If you want the 1280x960 photos, send an email to Kerry Burton: [email protected]

Looking Northwest from a viewing area above the canyon that John Wesley Powell and his group actually named "Flaming Gorge"
Proceeding to the East
A little more...
NOW you're starting to see it!
Ah! The classic postcard shot!
One more for good measure....
Close up of a "bush" at the view area
Another shot just in case
The upstream side of the Flaming Gorge Dam
Same spot, looking up the reservoir
Mini marina (?) next to the dam
The downstream side of the dam
One of several stationary posts mounted in the vicinity of the dam. According to the information plate at the view area, dam engineers periodically mount a piece of optical equipment on the posts to measure the movement (!) of the dam.
