We soon learned that the Irish we had was not show quality and purchased a bitch from Hearthstone Kennels in Connecticut. Thus began our odyssey into the world of dog shows. In 1974 we bred our first litter and with this litter KERRYBROOK was born. Since then we have bred 12 Irish setter litters and 2 dachshund litters. We're not large, we breed a litter only when we are able to keep a puppy to show.
In 1989 we purchased 14 acres in the country and moved five years later as Meghan went off to college.
All Meghan's life she's wanted a small dog that she could hold. In 1992 we caved in and purchased a miniature longhaired dachshund for her, Chrissy, undeniably the cutest dog in the world. We were hooked and she started our love affair with dachshunds. By the way, these little guys rule the roost! It's been a wild ride! Some of our winners:
