| Sunday August 3,2003 From Numbers 21:4- Phillipians 2:12 ~complaining~ *you can't get people into the church building until they see the church. *Excuses- an excuse is a lie with a suit on!! examples: Parents wont take there children to church because they dont want them to hate it when they get older...well if that were true why dont you stop giving your childrens baths??...they might hate them!! People wont go to church because they think that there are too many hipocrits in the church...well if this were true then why do they step foot in a hospitle or a jail to visit there child???There are hipocrits!!! * When you have a pain of any sort go and get a cure if possible...take action for your part! Romans3:27 and Romans 6:23~ recieve the cure~ *Theres only one way to heaven!!- John 14:1-7, Galations 3:37, and Ephesians 2 *Take up your cross and follow him! Show others the cure! John 3 ~unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God! Matthew23:8 Sin can get into a church building! John 3:5 How do you enter the Kingdom of Heaven? ( 1peter3, Acts 2:16, and 1John 1:5-7) ~You cannot get anything in your life right without Jesus~ |
| August 10th,2003 From Numbers 13:17-24 Isreal had left Egypt 1yr earlier. God provided food and water!! after 2months of traveling they arrived. They were on a journey to the promise land. 12 spys were selected to go and view the promise land...2 being Caleb and Joshua. The spys were there for 40days and returned with word and showed the fruit of the land, told about large cities, and strong ppl (giants) They said there were ppl everywhere and all except Caleb and Peter said they cannot conquer this land. Caleb says if the Lord is pleased with them he will give them the land. Caleb and Joshua remember the Lord is with them. Exodus 23:30-God tells them he will give them the promise land...this is the purpose of leaving Egypt. Numbers 14:9 *who are we like today??? We need to realize what we can accomplish with God on our side just as Caleb and Joshua did. Go out and preach the gospel share what you have learned. *what is our view of the people around us? Matthew 9:38 and Acts 4:29 *who should we be like? Romans 8:31 God told Caleb and Joshua to wander the wilderness while all men died out and to start over...they wandered for 38-39yrs and Caleb was rewarded with inheritance at 85yrs old just as strong as before, Numbers 12:33 Deuteromony 28:1, Joshua 15:14- Caleb is victorious!! He not only trusted God but also encouraged others to. Judges 3:9 Alone we can do nothing with God we can do anything! Numbers 14:24~ Caleb fully followed God...we need to realize we can do great things as christians, we need to learn to trust and follow God completely. With God working with us we can do great things. Romans 8:28!!! ~If God is with us nobody can stand up against us~ |
| The Joy of serving God 2Timothy 1:5 Philippians 2:5, 4:4 Joy is an intense, deep seeded happiness that transcends the human mind and the soul. To be willing to serve God we must be willing to serve each other. What is Joy?? "intense happiness or great delight" new websters dictionary "rejoice evermore" (2 Thessalonians 5:16) Your joy in serving God begins with your Attitude remember that ur attitudes are always developing the attitude of your parents and grandparents will reflect apon your life. (2Timothy 1:5) Hebrew 3:24-26 "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he" (proverbs 23:7) Attitude problems are the result of heart problems (Acts 8:21 ; Matthew 15:8) " For where your treasure is there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21) ~is your heart right with God?~ Philippians 2:5-7 You cant have one without the other!! "humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and he will lift you up" (James 4:10) Since Christ left us an example shouldnt we follow in his footsteps? (1Peter 2:21) Bless those who do evil against you. (Matthew 5,6,and 7) How do you find the joy in your life??/....Make God's will your will. This begins with the desire for God. Have your desire in God. (Psalms 73:25) Put others before yourself....look higher in your life! Desire of God begins with your attitude list your blessings, experiance the joy of giving, you must pray. A daily dose of the word of God will strenghten and help us to grow. (2 Peter 3:18) ~ you cant be happy without Jesus in your life~ Love is when someone elses life and happiness becomes yours!! Bubble rap = Joy (but the joy fades...the bubbles disappear :( ~God gives you eternal Joy!!!~ |
