Cape Town is a beautiful city located
on a peninsula with high mountains looming as a pituresque backdrop.
The most famous mountain being Table Mountain. There is a cable car
which you can take to the top (closed when there is high wind so we
discovered!)or for the physically inclined there is a trail.

Our first stop in Cape Town was at
Alfie's house in Fishhoek. From here we took the short trip to
Simonstown to see the penguin colony - "they are so cute". After bidding our farewells to Alfie
we moved to The Carnaby in Sea Point. Sea Point is a great seaside suburb with
lots of bars, restaurants and cafes. It is also within walking distance
to the city and The Waterfront. The Waterfront (overdeveloped tourist haven) was
our boarding point for the trip out to Robbin Is. This is where
Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 28 years. The stark environment of the prison
is in stark contrast to the view across the water to Cape
Town.
