England's No.1 Problem!
This is Tez's bathtub. No, actually the plumbing in the places I stayed in was more primative than this. People in the UK need to learn two phrases: shower head and water pressure.
Red bus
The red buses in London are free if you buy an Underground daypass. They go everywhere, including south of the Thames where the Tube doesn't go. Public transport is fabulous. You never need a car and the bus schedules look just like this and are glued to the side of bus stops on streets without lights so you can read them in total darkness. (Yeah, actually this is a tomb thingie in the British Museum, home to all the world's best loot.)
Bronze Age Helmet
This was the height of fashion from York to London circa 50 B.C. to 500 A.D. All the cool people wore them. I think some of that's real gold plate. Those Celts, Picts, Norman and Romans were busy little beavers.
Greek Parthenon
Stolen Marbles! This is one of a whole bus-load of marble sculptures "liberated" by some lord a hundred years back and now the Greek government wants them back. I actually kinda liked the British Museum. It's sort of like a Swiss bank for the world's archeological treasures. They're just missing a few savings account numbers ...
Outside British Museum
Shit, the lighting and my photography was so bad, this is the only shot in focus. It's looking out from the south entrance of the museum (it's massive) on the Russell Square area of north London. London University -- which the University of Nevada, Reno used to have an exchange program with -- is just few blocks from here. Some of the swankest hotels and monthly condos for the uber rich are here. Sweet.
