| Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as Kratom, is a narcotic and a stimulant. In smaller doses the plant has stimulatic effects similar to those experienced after medim to heavy coffeine intake. If a larger amount of the herb is ingested the effects become more opiate like, it is narcotic and pain-easing. The doses vary between 2g and 50g dried herb depending on quality of the material, differences in tolerance and wanted effect. The main active constitutents of Mitragyna is the alkaloid mitragynine, the alkaloids in Mitragyna speciosa is somwhere around 0,5% and 0,25% is mitragynine(it accounts for half the total alkaloids). |
