I Always Wonder
i always wonder when i look toward the sky if you see what i do?
do the clouds shape the same way in your backyard?
do they smile with softness
as they lay on their backs, eyes closed basking in the suns rays
spreading their arms far and wide, yet huddling close together?
i always wonder do you see the same watercolor sunsets as i do?
do the lilacs and the Easter pinks softly kiss the clouds ever blushing?
do they play and laugh till they're tired and have to rest
with the golds, settling in the outstretched corners of their infinite playground?
i always wonder do our separate heavens darken in the same way?
do the aquas and the prussians blend as graceful on your wooden pallet?
do the sapphires swirl with the cobalts forming endless pools of indigo
spilling like ink on my love letters
adorned with floating rocks of the cosmos which sparkle like little newborns eyes?
i always wonder if the moon shows as brightly where you stand?
does it compel you to stare at it's vast beauty as it hangs in the universe
as an ornament never falling?
does it sing with a song never ending
the notes which effortlessly flow with the crickets
playing a grand symphony all their own?
forever i do wonder
