listening to: nothing.
the weeks are flying by and kyden has been growing right before my eyes. i can't believe how much he's changed in just a couple of short weeks. he went through his growth spurt during his third week. he was extremely fussy and constantly at my breast. not the best time i've had with him since bringing him home. but at least he saved his fussiness for the daytime and fed well during the night.
a quick glance at his stats from his first month's visit at the doctor:

he's a lot more alert now. spending a lot of the day awake. and he's even lifting his head once in awhile. i bought a gently used tiny love gymini super deluxe lights & music activity mat (scoring it for $35.99 instead of the usual $59.99) at a nearby caterpillar kids to encourage his development. but he hasn't quite taken to it. i'm not sure if he's overstimulated by all the colors or he just plain doesn't like it.
more and more he's been gracing us with big beautiful smiles, especially right in the morning. but they've been very elusive to the camera. he's also starting to "talk". lots and lots of grunts and gurgles. and once in awhile, a coo.
life with kyden has nicely settled into a comfortable routine. or as comfortable of a routine as a life with a newborn can be. all we do is eat, sleep, poop and play. the days are melding together and i enjoy every second of it.
