TUESDAY, 11.28.2006 + a new wardrobe
listening to: nothing

guess who has a new wardrobe? well, actually guess who finally HAS a wardrobe. yep. baby does. i had planned to get up early with jon and hit the "day after thanksgiving" sales but i couldn't get my lazy-butt out of the house any earlier than noon. so i missed the big kmart sale which i had intended to take advantage of to buy baby bottles and other supplies. but i was able to hit the carter's sale, but as i spent THREE whole hours there, it was the only store i had the time for before having to go to work.

i browsed around the entire store, grabbing everything that caught my eye and then sat myself in a corner and compared what i had in hand and carefully narrowed down my pile. and then i overheard a lady telling her pregnant friend not to get too many newborn or three month outfits since one, she didn't know how big her baby was yet. and two, you never know how fast they'll grow. with my newfound advice i looked down and found that the majority of my own pile consisted of newborn and three month sizes as well. so i walked the store again, trading sizes and finding new items along the way, and plopped myself back into my corner to deliberate. after doing this a couple more times, i finally got into the check-out line, pleased with my choices and happy that i was able to control myself.

and so a mere three hours later and a little over a $100.00 lighter, i walked out with two bags and a smile.

here's what i bought:
01. a set of 5 basic white side-snap tees in both nb and 3m.
02. a set of 5 basic white long-sleeve bodysuits in nb.
03. a set of 5 basic white bodysuits in 3m.
04. a set of 2 roomy rolly pants each in nb, 3m and 6m.
05. a couple of speedy exit creepers in 3m.
06. a couple of easy entry footsies in 3m.
07. a set of 5 sporty bodysuits in 6m.
08. a couple of sporty long-sleeve bodysuits in 6m.
09. a couple of easy entry footsies in 6m.
10. a fleece jacket and pant set in 6m.
11. a couple of sleeplikely gowns that fits nb-9m.

i tried to stick with the necessities. onesies, pants and sleepwear. i'm figuring that while we're at home, the baby will most likely lounge around in just diapers.

the whole event wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. i've heard a lot of stories about how hectic the stores can get and was a little wary about getting myself run over by some crazed shopper. but then again, maybe going later in the day made the difference. or perhaps, it depends on the store you're at. i can't see anyone fighting over a pair of onesies.

OWARI.
