i've been splurging. at least not all in one day. it's been over the course of a couple of weeks. last week, i picked up three movies at wal*mart. i usually stay away from the dvd section as i always used to come home with at least one. but since it's been awhile, i figured i'd indulge and allow myself to browse. and buy.
first up, "final fantasy vii: advent children". i mentioned this movie awhile back. and totally forgot about it. until i saw it displayed in all its glory. right next to "the denonator". whatever movie that was. i absolutely loved "ffii:ac". so much so that i watched it once every single day, for a week. i loved the graphics. i loved the story. i loved the little references to the actual ffvii game.
as i mentioned a few weeks ago, i probably wouldn't see "memoirs of a geisha" until i actually bought the dvd. and well, i've done that. and have watched it once so far. in between watching my "ffii:ac" marathon. it was nice to see the story come to life as the book itself is one of my favorite novels and zhang ziyi is one of my favorite actresses. overall, i did like it. i wasn't overtly enthusiastic or thrilled by it. but it was still enjoyable.
after watching "snatch", "italian job" and "transporter", jon and i have become fans of jason statham. so how could i not pick up "transporter 2" when i saw it sitting near "memoirs of a geisha", waiting for me to take it home as well and unite it with its prequel brother.
we haven't yet watched it. waiting for a day that jon and i can take the time to curl up and enjoy it. i'm hoping for a good movie. most sequels seem to pale in comparison to the prequel. so we'll see.
i also added picked up a couple of cds. jinusean's newest (albeit it was released in late 2004) album "
" (norabose). after first being introduced to the group back in 2000, i thought it was about time that i finally added them to my cd collection. unfortunately, their previous four albums are already out-of-print and i have to do some real digging around to find them. i also bought lexy's "lextacy" which was at least released a little more recently, during this past august.
out of the two, "norabose" is definitely my favorite. i think i should've gotten lexy's first album "lexury". i liked more songs off it. but then again, you can't be picky when that one is out-of-print as well.

yeah. that's right. they collaborated with snoop. they even partnered with cypress hill on their previous album. and you thought they were lame. there's a difference between "wanna be" and "hugely influenced by". :b
what else did i end up buying? oh yeah.
after hearing a lot of bad information about mac makeup and finally finishing what i had of it, i visited neiman marcus and bought some foundation (specifically the water perfect foundation) from shu uemura. along with their oh-so-famous high performance balancing cleansing oil. terri, the counter-girl really helped me out. helping me choose the right foundation. teaching me how to better take care of my skin. yes-yes, i know. that's what she's there. but she even threw in a few samples. :) gotta love that! i also replenished my supply of bliss steep clean cleansing milk and see spots run.
and THAT finally concludes my shopping spree. as well as the beep beep beeping of items being rung up. at least for now. :b
