happy easter eve!
with me working tomorrow night, jon and i celebrated easter one day early. and it still felt a bit last minute. especially since we went to three stores looking for an egg-dyeing kit and unsuccessfully had to come home without it as all three of them were sold out (and so obviously, the header above is not a photo of our eggs. since ours are just plain fuddy-duddy white. but i guess its natural that way). but nonetheless, we still had everything we needed to make a great dinner of honeyed ham with pineapples, steamed broccoli and carrots and potato au gratin. we even finished off with some sweets from godiva. like a four-piece ballotin containing a cherry cordial, a chocolate cream heart, a marbelized scallop shell and lastly a vanilla caramel, as well as a milk-chocolate bunny for jon. and just a white-chocolate bunny for me.
and just in case i'm not the only one who didn't know what a ballotin was, it's just a fancy name for a candy box. but coincidently it's also someone who is in charge of the ballot box. which would be me. but i'm not in charge of the ballot box. i'm in charge of the candy box. because he WOULD eat all four in one sitting. like the time he ate the WHOLE box of gummi burgers from costco in one sitting. xb
but anyway. we're going to attend easter service tomorrow morning. we've been pretty good about going to church on sundays. and usually try to attend the earlier services at 7:00am or 9:00am, rather than the late-morning service at 11:00am. it feels like we're dedicating more to the lord when we have to wake up early. mike and maria have also started attending. it's nice to have that kind of fellowship with them as well.
jon and i attended the annual auto show held at the convention center, last weekend. he was given two free tickets, which we used to get me and mike in. jon used his paystub to gain his free access. here's my three favorites and the top three features of each that stood out.
