i love waikoloa. it's my little getaway. the strong tourisy atmosphere almost reminds me of waikiki and being on o'ahu. not to mention that it's also home to one of my all-time favorite stores, dfs galleria and restaurants, hama yu.
during our stay, my family and i stayed at the aston shores at waikoloa, just a ten minute walk from the hilton waikoloa and a fifteen minute walk from the kings' shops.
our first night there, we ate at roy's for dinner. the service was a little slower than expected for such a highly-rated restaurant, but the food was definitely worth it. unfortunately, i wasn't able to take any pictures while inside. my family didn't seem the type that would understand.

both uncle harry and i started off with the house salad. it was served with a delicious lilikoi (passion fruit) vinagrette. i ordered the kabayaki grilled tiger shrimp with vegetable maki sushi and wasabi-infused namasu. uncle harry had a combination plate of ribs and shrimp. i can't recall exactly what auntie betty ordered, but i know it was fish. wes had the rib-eye steak. and britney had the children's dinner. it started off with a cheese quesadilla as an appetizer. then came vegetable sticks and apple slices and her main course of pasta with alfredo sauce. and to top it off, a chocolate sundae for dessert. for dessert, the rest of us shared roy's famous melting hot chocolate soufflè.
the next day, monday, auntie betty and wesley drove back early in the morning. she worked and he had a baseball game. britney and uncle harry left early to so that she could get some practice in before she had to tee off at 11:00 for the junior world hawaii qualifier.
i spent my day walking around the kings' shops and the hilton waikoloa. i bought two shirts from the honolua surf co. a ripcurl tanktop and an element muscle tank. the day was extremely nice. hot, but still very nice. it was a good thing i stopped to buy some orange julius before i left the shops and headed towards the hilton.

i took an extraordinary amount of photos at the hilton, using up both my 16mb and 32mb memory cards. i really love being there.
