happy birthday dad!

jon and i met up with iris and digga at the drag races today. although digga wasn't able to participate this weekend, with his crx being out of commission for the moment, jon c. was able to run 13.7 with his civic hatch.

the highlight of today's drags was the 5-second funny car, big island thunder driven by mike bell.

i took a whole lot of photos at the drags, but unfortunately i couldn't remember all of the times of the cars i took pictures of.

after the drags, the four of us met up at ocean sushi deli for dinner. i apologize that the photos came out a bit blurry. i'm still getting used to the camera.

my order: the hamanako roll (unagi, cream cheese
and kaiware rolled in goma and topped with
a teriyaki sauce), and ebi and tamago nigiri.

iris's order: the downtown roll (chicken katsu and lettuce
topped with a teriyaki sauce), the hilo roll (tempura ahi,
imitation crab, and avacado) and hamachi nigiri for digga.

jon's order: tempura udon.

digga's order: a combination of shrimp tempura,
kal-bi, and chicken katsu.
