adiós kona

today is my last day in kona. as soon as jon returns from work, we'll be on our way back to hilo. i am looking forward to seeing everyone in hilo again, yet at the same time, i'm still a little reluctant to leave.

it's not as if we've done anything of real interest this past week. i've just been a complete bum and jon worked the whole week, so that really only left us with the evenings. and both of us have been really strapped for cash, considering that i've been living off of $3.75 since last week and jon has decided to be pretty much broke until his next paycheck, so he could buy me my digital camera, so we hadn't gone out that much.

i think what i'm really going to miss is jon's good-bye's in the morning as he leaves for work. and i'll miss welcoming home when he returns. and curling up on the couch with him and watching movies. and going to sleep in his arms.

we did end up going out to eat though, last night. i remembered that i still hadn't cashed my christmas check that my grandmother gave me (isn't it great finding money?), so jon and i went to pancho & lefty's. i really love the food there. then again, i really love mexican food.

unfortunately, i forgot to bring my camera and missed out on some really nice pictures. i was very tempted to go to the abc store across the street to buy one of those disposable cameras, but, i really need all the money i can save.

jon ordered the burrito colorado ranchero. i think that's what it was called. it was definitely a burrito and i remember it had the word "colorado" in it because it had some special colorado sauce. i had the burrito con carne with sour cream on the side. i love sour cream with my burritos. both of our plates came with sides of refried beans topped with melted cheese and spanish rice. i barely made a dent in my burrito before i got full. the portions are huge!

afterwards, jon and i sat back and took in the surroundings, a heineken in his hand and a lava flow in mine. it was definitely a good ending to my spring break in kona.

owari.
