i came across this entry in li's journal and i couldn't stop smiling. i *so* know where she's coming from. my beloved jon says that from time to time. guys will be boys, won't they? but i wouldn't have it any other way. with immaturity, comes boyish cuteness. well, to a certain extent at least. :b
jon and i are definitely open when it comes to checking out other people. i think that's one of the great things about our relationship, that we're secure with each other. we both know when the other person is checking someone out. we just know each other's tastes. jon's a little more apparent about it then i am. either a particular girl will catch my eye and i'll know that she's caught his eye as well, or i'll see him smirking and with a quick glance around, i can find which girl he's checking out.
some of my friends are really surprised that we do this, that jon and i will walk around and point out attractive people to each other, or try to guess who the other thinks is attractive. but i think it's all about trust. we both trust that the other person is not going to run off with the first (or hundredth) attractive person they see. besides, what fun would there be if we got mad every time the other person saw someone attractive? and what kind of relationship is that? i was once with someone who would accused me of checking out every single guy that passed by. over time, i began to walk with my head down, watching the various shoes pass me by, just so i could avoid those accusations. i won't be subjected to that again. i'm completely grateful for the trust and freedom jon gives me.
