“AS A CHILD”

As a child
Life was nothing more than
Having fun
As a child
Life was nothing more than
Life was easy
Everybody had not one worry
As a child
Life was cheerful
Life was carefree
As an adult
I begin to wish
That the life of a child
Could be recaptured
The innocences of that time
Remember life was carefree
It was just a breeze
As a child
Life was nothing more than
Simple as could be
There was total honesty
Never had to read between the lines
Now a days
You are left wondering
Does this mean that?
Does that mean this?
Why or why did
They do that for
What was the motive?
As a child
You never had to say
Why or what was the purpose for that
As a child
We never questioned
We just did it and went on
Never worrying about the consequences
As a child
We never worried about tomorrow
We always were just
Living for the moment
I wish that
I could reclaim
Maybe not my childhood
Reclaim that which was special
The carefree spirit of the childhood
What ever happen to the simple things
I want the innocences of the childhood
The simplest thing
The honesty of childhood
Complete honesty
