Yes friends of the darkness, there are people out there who actually listen to the drivel that seethes from car speakers, riding the low frequency energy waves known as radio transmission. You have probably seen them. They gallavant about the halls of most major highschools - a subject I will discuss at a later time - listening to their "Brittney Spears" and "Christina Aguilera". I bet you they only played that pop garbage at my prom anyhow. I'm glad I didn't go.

"Well if everyone likes it, it must be pretty good..." you're probably saying. Well guess what, you're wrong. The enlightened sect of us known universally by the moniker "Goth" know that pop music is not music. "Music" is only music if no one else likes it. The second a song or band gains popularity, it ceases to be music and begins to be pop culture. Despite their previously thought to be "deep" lyrics, many bands are tainted by the touch of popularity. Even songs that used to be good become shit as they are transformed by the adoration of the ignorant masses.

To create true music, bands must give up all dreams of making a living doing what they love. They must cast aside the desire to make people happy with their art. To create music, a band must create an unpleasant general sound fueled by poor musicianship and characterized by depressing lyrics about their unfair teenage years, preferably in white, middle-class suburbia. The real tradgedies always happen where people have the most chance at success.

Pop "music" breaks all these rules. The harmonies are catchy, the lyrics are happy and above all, the people are pretty. These "beautiful people" - who are beautiful only if you succumb to the western standard of normality - are everywhere in pop music. Their aesthetically pleasing faces are masks of an empty mind. It is a well known fact that to be brilliant, you must be ugly. Pretty people are never smart, they're too busy being pretty to read Radcliffe or listen to Dashboard Confessional.

In conclusion, pop singers waste air by continuing to exist. Let us all join hands ceremoniously and focus our collective energy on ending the tyranny of pop music on the radio. And while we're at it, lets focus some energy on getting my band - The Dark Prince and His Children of Hellish Night - some radio air play. Not that we want any, cause popularity is way lame.
