WAITING FOR A MIRACLE

Faith Mackenzie Brooks

Dear friends,

Thank you so much for all your prayers.

From the time I sent out the first prayer request,
we have been completely overwhelmed with
support from folks we don't even know.

With great sorrow, we inform you that our baby
has died, but with great joy we say
"she has gone to be with the Lord."

Below is a copy of part of the obituary
from our local paper.

At the present time, we are receiving over 200
emails each day concerning the prayer requests
for our baby and that number keeps growing.
(right now, we have over 1000 unread emails)
I am sorry that we are unable to respond to
you personally, but I'm sure you understand.
We hope to get a handle on the massive amount of
email we are getting very soon.

Please help us out by forwarding this to everyone you
have sent our prayer request to.

Very truly yours in Christ,
Robert, DaNeil & Lora Brooks

Faith Mackenzie Brooks, infant daughter
of Robert & DaNeil Brooks, went home
to live with Jesus prior to her birth on
August 21, 1999.

A service celebrating God's gift of eternal life was
held at First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant
on Tuesday, August 24 at 2:00 p.m.
Her tiny body was laid to rest in Cabarrus Memorial
Gardens, but her soul will forever be with the Lord.

"Our Faith only budded here on the earth.
She bloomed in Heaven."

"It's 'good bye' for just a little while, sweetheart.
We will all be together again someday."

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

"Golden Wings"

I picture you in heaven
Way beyond the sunny skies.
I see you sitting on God's lap
As tears roll from my eyes.

I can see you look up at his face
As you bounce upon his knee.
I can see your smile and hear your laugh
As you giggle happily.

I know that you are healthy now
And totally complete,
From the precious hair upon your head
To your chubby toes and feet.

Although I only briefly held you
I will always feel you near.
The memories I have of you
Will be forever crystal clear.

I never got to rock you
Or sing softly in your ear
I never got to comfort you
Or wipe away a tear.

But I carried you inside of me
And I loved you from the start
When God took you away
He took a large part of my heart.

I cannot question "Why?"
Or doubt God's wisdom or His plan,
Because in my heart and mind
I know I'll never understand.

I can only trust Him
To know what's best for me,
To lead me through each day
And guide me lovingly.

So every time I think of you
I'll put a smile upon my face,
Because I know that you are special
And wrapped in God's loving grace.

The pain I'm feeling now
Will ease as time goes by,
But the mother's love I have for you
Will grow until I die.

So I can only pray
That God will hold you when I cry
And give my little angel
Golden wings so you can fly.

Please, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made
to the FAITH Memorial Children's Fund in care of:

First Baptist Church,
PO Box 147,
Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124.

We want our baby's short life on earth to make an
eternal difference. The FAITH fund will be used to
help abandoned newborns and "unwanted" children
all over the world find loving homes.

"While there may be unwanted pregnancies,
there is no such thing as an unwanted child."

Special Note:
At the present time in Johannesburg, South Africa,
approximately 30 babies are found each month
abandoned in dumpsters, but many of these precious
little ones are alive.  Berea Baptist Mission Church
is opening an orphanage as an alternative for
mothers when "unwanted" babies are born.

Through the FAITH fund, we are going to help
support this new ministry.  Please help us
help the children.

God willing, we hope to adopt one of these little ones
ourself one day.

I realize that on the internet, many claims of this
type can not be trusted.  If you would like to verify
the validity of the claims made within this letter,
please feel free to write First Baptist Church
Mt. Pleasant at the address above.
