Kerala Minister's Car in Accident

Road accidents are very very common on our national highways. Every day many people die from Cannanore to Trivandrum. On new year's day, there was an accident involving a minister's car and a lorry. Luckily no one was killed this time. The full report from Mathrubhumi follows below

The accident happened when the minister's car was overtaking another car. The car collided with the lorry coming from the opposite direction. Obviously the minister's car was on the wrong side of the road! The news report doesn't explicitly say this! But it says that the lorry driver went to the Police Station and surrendered himself! We do understand why the driver has reported himslef to the Police Station. But we don't understand why he had to surrender! He has not done anything wrong! It was a fatal error by the minister's car driver. Will the Police show enougfh guts to register a case here? At lease for Insurance Purpose the guilty has to beidentified! Ministers' cars usually do not follow any traffic rules in Kerala. They also go at reckless speed. This one is not an exception either! [There was a Chief Minister who used to visit Guruvayoor temple every Malayalam month. That day, the road between Trivandrum and Guruvayoor used to be the most dangerous stretch in the whole world!]

In Kerala no one follows traffic rules, speed limits etc. The ministers and politicians, police and the officials are worst scoundrels in this matter!

Case against the Lorry Driver?

Sanday Kaumudi reports (Jan 6, 2002) that It should be noted that Sankaran's car rammed against a lorry when his driver tried to overtake four cars in a row! And not surprisingly case was charged on the lorry driver.

Amazing indeed! 100% fault was on the part of the minister's car and the poor lorry driver has been made a scapegoat! In Kerala roads contrary to popular belief, state tarnsport buses and private cars are more danerous than lorries!

Every life is precious!

Every life is precious. A minister's life is not more precious than a drivers life, especially when the ministers are corrupt politicians!
