The body of M.R. Kutty, who was kidnappd and murdered by the Taliban militia in Afghanistan, was brought to Delhi on Thursday evening by a special Indian Airlines flight.

The body was received at the airport with full State honours.

Kutty, a driver with the Border Roads Organisation, was kidnapped last Saturday by the militia, which asked the company to stop its operations in the war-ravaged country.

On Tuesday, the Taliban announced that they had killed Kutty on the expiry of the deadline, as there had been no response from either the company or the Indian government.

His body was recovered yesterday in the Nimroz province by a police patrol.

The killing came in for bitter condemnation with both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Afghan President Hamid Karzai who expressed their outrage and deep sense of indignation over the execution of the 36-year old, a resident of Haripad in Kerala and the only son of his parents.
