The most innocent, naive, and adorable member of the household. Shinobu's character kind of creeps into your heart as you see her develop throughout the series.

Shinobu starts out in the series as a shy, reserved 12 year old. She's been living in Hinatasou for a while since she's having family problems (hasn't been looked into in the manga, but you see her parents fighting in the anime).

In contrast to what was first said, Shinobu is actually the mature one in Hinatasou in terms of housework. When the kitchen's not on fire or if the food doesn't taste stale, it's assured that Shinobu's done the cooking.

She's also the most (over)emotional person in the household. When she feels bad about something, she runs off crying. You'll see this a lot, as the situations often involve Keitaro ^^. She's often regretful and says sorry a lot.

Shinobu has a pretty strong crush on Keitaro, and goes through great lengths to help him.

Editor's Opinions: Although Shinobu's climactic story occurs during the middle in the manga (and probably none in the anime), the last chapters of the manga were rushed and could've provided her a scenario to have a sense of closure, like Motoko's.

Differences in anime version:

• You see Shinobu's parents fighting over her custody (they're divorcing). In the manga, it's noted that she's had family problems and is living in Hinatasou.
• She doesn't become a resident of Hinatasou until Episode 2.
• Her birthday (the only one celebrated in the series) was left out.
