Despite her impulsive, short-tempered personality, Naru is a very compassionate person. In fact, she was the only one that felt pity for Keitaro after his little lie was discovered. She also (though reluctant at first) helps Keitaro study and improve his grades. She also helps out the other troubled residents in Hinata House. While we're on the subject of Naru and Keitaro, those two have developed a very strong love/hate relationship in the story. At one moment they're chit-chatting, then another she's extending her helping hand to Keitaro, and again Keitaro slips up and touches her boob/pulls down her pants/flips her skirt/sees something innappropriate and gets the crap beat out of him. But, she geniunely cares for him, so we'll let it slide ^^. Of course, this situation gets even more amusing when Mutsumi jumps in. You see jealous outbursts come from Naru when Mutsumi tries to move in on her man ^^. But despite that, Mutsumi is her and Keitaro's mutual friend, and she shows a lot of respect to the ditzy princess. In fact, she's can be quite envious of her. The spotlight is mostly on Keitaro and Naru, so you'll see these two develop the most. But don't let that keep your interests away from the other characters ^^. Editor's opinion: Naru's character is a bit more reasonable in the anime than the manga (you'd understand if you checked both versions). Her English voice (the same voice of Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin) kind of suits her, but the performance is pretty bad. Also, there are some silly instances where Naru looks as if she's pouting like a little kid (ex: episode 1 and 14). I really hate it when the anime version portrays her like that.
