This is not a scripture, but a poem that I found and really liked: I see you walking down the hall a cross hanging 'round your neck. And when I start to think of it all, you're not what I would expect. You've said you'd be there when I need a friend so why did you ignore me just now? I really don't get this God thing; how do you stand out in the crowd? You act like everyone else i know, yet you preach as though you were a king. This "Christian" thing must be a phase; it's really a confusing thing. If this God is so wonderful, why don't you show it more? I thought I saw you put someone down, are you really different than before? If that's the way your God really is, I'll tell you exactly how I feel. Stop drawing praise to yourself, Your're not fooling anyone--get real!" -Adrianne Trevalthan (13 yrs.) |
