The twinkling star shined so brightly over Florence, Italy as a French writer gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on September 5, 1975. She was the second child born into the McGowan family. This tiny Rose growing up, without knowing that she had a very interesting life ahead of her. Being raised in an Italian (Catholic) sex cult, named "The Children of God" was the least of her problems.

At the tender age of ten, Rose's father, who was an Irish artist, left her mother for the nanny.

Soon after, her parents divorced, and she went to go live with her grandmother in Gig Harbor, Washington. With all the pressures of home life, Rose got caught up in drugs and foreign substances, and ended up in a drug rehab clinic, at the age of 14. Between the ages of 14 and 15, she was homeless and out on her own.

In addition to the pressure of the teenage years, Rose found herself on her own from then on. Shortly after, she graduated at 16 and became an emancipated minor. Then, at age 17, went to art and beauty school in Seattle.

In 1995, Rose decided to take up acting as a career after attending the Sundance Festival. So, she packed her bags and moved to Los Angeles to pursue and acting career.

She now lives with Marilyn Manson and her two Boston Terriers, Bud and Fester.
