Dear Classmates and others.

Another 5 years has rolled by and here we are planning another Reunion of the Class of 1952!  Can you imagine, this Reunion will be to commemorate the 65th year since we graduated from our Alma Mater, Tusculum College, way down in GreenEville, TN.  Now, a few of you, who are receiving this, were actually not graduated in 1952, but are considered dear friends of ours, either by being part of our class at one time or other, or, because you were personal friends during our 4 years there.   Our committee, made up of Connie Parker SInkway, Jean Oakes Olcott and me, has been in contact with Heather Patchett,  Vice President for Institutional Advancement, that includes the Alumni Office, and we have come up with a suggested schedule of events to take place during the 2017 Homecoming  Weekend.(October 19-22.)   We think that the suggested schedule will be of interest for everyone who attends and, in particular, our special group, namely the Class of 1952 and you, our special dear friends.  While the schedule of the events for the weekend has not been finalized, the plans look like it should be a weekend to be remembered and one that might provide a formula for exciting future Homecoming Weekends!  Our suggestions have been accepted, for the most part, and include, for example:

• A Thursday evening Wine and Cheese party at one of the local Hotels,.

• A Pre-Alumni Meeting Breakfast (Coffee and Donuts, etc.) to be held prior to the meeting in an adjoining room to provide an opportunity to mingle,

• A possibility of having our group be included in the President’s Golden Pioneers Reception,

• A time change of the Golf Tournament to allow participants to return to their respective Hotels prior to an evening function.

• A Dinner Dance having other that 100% Top-40 music.

• A possibility of a Sunday Breakfast held on the Terrace of the Library on Campus providing an opportunity for us all to have a farewell get together before our trek home.

We have suggested that perhaps the General Morgan Hotel might reduce their room rates to make it more amenable for Alumni to stay there.  If this happens, then we would ask that they Block a set of rooms aside for our group.  If it doesn’t, then we will set a Block of rooms aside in another hotel nearer the campus.

I have included a Penny Postcard that is addressed to me indicating the possibility of you attending Homecoming 2017.  I ask that each of you take a moment and just check a Will or a Will Not.  If you choose Will, then indicate when you might expect to arrive and when you might expect to leave.  That way, we would have an indication as to your possible participation of the Thursday evening event and the Sunday Breakfast on the Terrace event.
