Crushes. They do just that. They crush. Whoever came up with using the word for the situation hit the nail on the head. Crushes are something that everyone goes through. It's a part of growing up. I've definately had crushes before. They were stupid little things in the sixth grade. I haven't had a crush since sixth grade. Until now.
"Nick" is a great guy. He's smart, he's nice, he's cute. And he's funny as all hell. Problem? Number one, he has a girlfriend. Number two, he's my best guy friend. Why does this happen? Why do people start liking their best friends of the opposite sex? It doesn't make sense.
Well, ok, it does. You know the person. You know you can trust them. Maybe it's some kind of all powerful plan. Who the hell knows? All I know is that crushes crush. My God do they hurt sometimes. It really sucks to know that they are right there and you can't do anything about it. When, even though you tell them, they choose to ignore that piece of information.
I don't know how I've managed to avoid having a crush from sixth grade until now. But I thank God. I'd rather just go out with the person than sit around saying, "You know, I really like so-and-so." Not only is it a waste of time, but, well, it doesn't help you get over it. Too bad we can't choose who we like. It's left up to our heart and our mind. It would be easier if we could choose to like someone that we can have.
