HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Dear Friends (past & present; near & far; old & new),

Well, against all odds, it looks like we've almost made it through
another year. And what a year it's been! Believe me, there were times
when I really doubted my odds for survival. But I did -- due in no small
measure to the friendship, support and encouragement I received from you.
It's not yet smooth sailing but I *am* employed, I still have a place to
live and my health has yet to totally collapse. Indeed, I have great
hopes for the next year, century and millennium -- as long as I don't have
to face it alone.

Right now I'm sick with a horrendous cold. I've been sneezing, coughing
and blowing my nose around the clock. My voice is just a dry rasp.
Nevertheless, with the magic of print and e-mail, my virtual voice can
still boom out:

A MERRY CHRISTMAS (or fill in the appropriate holiday) TO ALL AND MY
BEST WISHES FOR A HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR!!!!
