�Hey girls.� He said, acknowledging their presence. He then turned to Brian. �Hello Brian. Haven�t seen you for a while.� Brian gave a short bow. �What have we here?� he asked, eyeing Lian.
�We�ll tell you as soon as I set her down. She�s breaking my arm.� Brian�s voice was slightly strained.

�So, then she ran into me and we came here.� Brian finished up their story.
�Well, from what you�re saying, Lian was feeling Jin�s pain. The thing we should be worried about is not what Lian�s feeling. It should be what Jin�s feeling. Lian can only feel about half, if you will, of what the person is actually feeling.� Kin explained.
�So, once she wakes up, will we be able to tell what happened to Jin?� Zoe asked hopefully.
�It depends on how much she saw, and how much she felt.� Kin answered.
Avari had been unusually quiet since they got there. Zoe took notice of this. �Hey, Jeanna? You ok?�
�Huh?� Avari looked up. The other three conscious people noticed her sad eyes. �I guess, but...�
�But...what?� Zoe asked, concerned.
�I can�t help thinking of the last thing I said to her.� Avari said sadly.
�What?� Brian asked curiously.
�I told her to leave me alone because she asked me about what I didn�t want to discuss, and I got mad at her. I had gotten bugged about it all day, and she asked me again and I just...well, exploded!�
�Well, don't go thinking it was your fault, cause it wasn�t. You could never have guessed that she was going to be kidnapped.� Zoe told her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
A moan came from the couch, and Brian was at Lian�s side in an instant. She slowly opened her eyes and stared straight ahead.
�Lian? Lian? Are you alright?� Avari asked quietly.
�Avari? Where am I?� Lian asked weakly.
�You�re at Kin�s place.� Brian answered.
�What? Oh.�
�Listen, we need you to tell us what you felt and saw.� Kin urged.
�Uhhh... I saw Jin. She was strapped to a metal table, and Spite and some other kooky scientist guy were standing next to her. She was screaming in pain and shouting �NO!�. She looked like she was in a lot of pain. My head felt like it was splitting open. I felt like I was being electrocuted. I�m really worried about Jin. If I was in that much pain, think what she actually felt.� Lian said worriedly.
�Well, we need to keep looking for her. We can�t give up. Uhhh... Lian? Why are you shaking?� Brian asked, noticing the state Lian was in.
�Every time I feel a bunch of someone else�s pain, physical or emotional, I feel really drained and I start shaking. It gets annoying.� Lian explained.
Lian noticed Avari�s downcast face. �What�s up, Jeanna?�
�I was just thinking about the last thing I said to her.�
�Chill out. Ellette isn�t going to hate you. When I talked to her yesterday after school, she was angry, but she was also really worried about you. It�s not like this will end your friendship.� Lian answered.
�Alright.� Avari smiled a fake smile.
