Chapter Four
Karen's Goodbye
Kento ducked a swing made by Dais. He backed away slightly as Dais advanced. He was stopped from getting his Bo by a scythe thrown by Dais. Dais! Its me, Kento! You know me! Stop! I dont want to hurt you! He cried. But, his voice fell on deaf ears. Dais swung at him with his scythes. One weapon caught Kento by the chest, and flung him into a nearby building. Kento collapsed onto his knees, and looked up as Dais approached him to deliver another blow. Kento braced himself, and closed his eyes. Dais drew back his nunchucks, and...WHAM!!! Dais went flying. Kento opened his eyes, and there stood Karen. Wings out, and she looked mad. Kento had to admit, that when she was like that, she looked pretty darn intimidating.
You OK? She asked, helping him to his feet.
Yeah. Howd you know where he was? He asked.
I can sense where a person is. Its how I battle. Its like seeing them mentally. She answered.
Cool. So what do we do now? He wondered.
Well, why dont you go help Ryo deal with Kaldra? Karen suggested.
Kaldras HERE?! Kento yelled, looking around.
Yes. He was probably taking the time to plan out this attack. Thats probably why it was so long before he attacked. Karen theorized.
Alright. What about you? Kento asked, turning back to her.
Im going to help the others out of their prediciments. See ya. Karen kissed Kento lightly on the cheek before taking off.
As soon as she was gone, Kento put a hand to his cheek. Okaaaaay. That was unexpected. He thought. Then he simply shook it off and headed to help Ryo.

Cye ran from Sekhmets swinging swords. He ducked and jumped, and did all kinds of fancy tricks to get away and not hurt Sekhmet. Finally, Cye was backed up against the wall, his hands and Yari in a defensive position in front of his face. Sekhmet drew back his sword and was about to run him through, when a flash of white and light blue sent Sekhmet flying into a nearby tree, knocking it down.
Cye looked up into Karens empty clear blue eyes. Ok there, Cye?
Yeah, Im fine. He didnt get me much. So what exactly is going on? He asked picking himself up.
Well, the long period of time that was when nothing was happening, was probably when he was planning this massive attack. Well, Ryo, Rowen, and Kento are doing stuff with Kaldra, and Ill go relieve Sage. Why dont you go help out Ryo and them? Karen explained.
Without another word, Karen took off in the direction of Sage and Cale, and Cye went to help Ryo, Kento, and Rowen.

Sage dodged multiple attacks from Cale, often averting them somewhere into the sky. Cale! Its me, Sage! Cmon! Its your new friend! Stop! Cale not only didnt listen, but he strengthened his attacks. A black energy wave struck his hand, sending his no-datchi flying, and a burn in his hand armor. Sage grunted, and turned to get his sword. A blast from Cales sword stopped him in his tracks. He turned to the returned Warlord of Corruption. Cale held up his sword and began shouting his sure-kill.
Black lightning STRI... There seemed to be nothing else. The voice didnt die off. It just stopped. Sage looked up to see Karen standing infront of him, and Cale lying a few feet away.
Whew! Sage said, standing up. Thanks, Karen. So, where are the others?
Off fighting Kaldra. You might want to go help them. Karen suggested.
What about you? Sage asked, as Karen hovered a few feet off the ground.
Ill add my power to you guys, so youll have more energy to fight with. Without another word, Karen took off in the direction of the battle with Kaldra.
Sage stared after her.
Ill never understand why girls do that kind of thing. Oh, well, Ill ask her out after this. Sage smiled woth this in mind and headed to where the others were fighting.
Karen knelt down, and put her hands in her lap. She concentrated, and drew all of her energy into her chest. Her body took on a silver glow, and intensified. The crowd gasped, and shielded their eyes. The silver light shot from her and entered each of the Ronins.
Immediately, the Ronins felt filled with new life and energy. Their armors glowed brightly with the new power, and their energy transferred into Ryo. Ryo held up his forearms, and then snapped them aside, shattering his Wildfire armor into billions of sakura blossoms. The white armor of Inferno clamped itself onto his darkened subarmor, and Blackblaze leaped over his shoulder. Ryo unsheathed his Fervor swords, and pointed them at Kaldra.
"Ahhhh, Hariels White armor of Inferno. The most prized posession of Talpa. And soon it will belong to me!" Kaldra laughed.
"I think not. Youll never defeat us! Not while were together! And we have extra power from Karen, so youre going down Kaldra, and so is anyone who decides that they are going to take over the race of humanity. So get ready, Kaldra, for a professional Ronin butt beating!" Ryo challenged.
"I dont think so. The power that the Angel Ronin gives can only remain if she is here!" Kaldra yelled back at him.
"What do you mean?" Kento demanded. "Shes here!"
"Not for long." Kaldra cackled. Then he broke into an insane laugh.
At that moment, and blood curdling scream filled the air. The Ronins turned around to see Cale standing above a fallen Karen. Karen had a hole in the back of her chest armor, and she was lying in a growing pool of her own blood.
"KAREN!!!!!" screamed Kento.
"KAREN!" the yells of the other Ronins soon filled the air.
Tears staining Ryos face, he rushed at Kaldra. He sliced at him with the fervor swords, that were, at the moment, filled with more fervor than ever before. Kaldra began fighting back, but never once hitting Ryo. Kaldra began to loose the upper hand as Ryo fought on, never letting up, just pushing harder.
Kaldra looked around, expecting to see the source of this new energy. Then, he saw it. Karens limp form was glowing silver. The silver light was flooding out of her, and into the Ronins. She was dead, but she was feeding their armors! As more and more of the energy entered Ryo, his eyes glowed with a stronger, more angry, vengeful glint. The tears still streamed down his face, but he seemed as if he was getting stronger by the death of the angel.
Finally, Ryo lept back, and crossed his swords in front of him. Kaldra regained composure, and stood. He didnt have any time to do anything else as Ryos attack hit him head on.
"RAGE OF INFERNO!!!!!!!!" The fire incinerated Kaldra. Leaving nothing of him. Not even a pile of ash. Ryo panted slightly as flames burst around him. Banishing the armor of Inferno. He was left in his subarmor. The five returned to civilian clothes, and rushed over to Karens quickly disappearing form.
The Ronins surrounded her, tears staining each of their faces. Even though they had only known her for about two weeks, they felt as if theyd known her all their lives.
"Karen...." Sage trailed off, then Kento picked up.
"Thanks."
No, thank YOU.came a familiar voice.
Karen! Kento shouted. The five looked into the sky. And there she was. Her shoulders and up was in the sky, smilingdown at them. But, there was something about her that was different. Yes, it was her eyes. They now sparkled with small round pupils in the center. Karen was healed.
She blew a kiss to Kento (weather the others realized it was to him or not is still a mystery) and held up two fingers. Thanks a lot guys!
